hi...i know bananas are only ripe once they have little brown spots all over them, but what about when they have those spots, but they are still green in some parts. this has been happening more and more often lately...are they ripe?

Not as ripe as I like them. I like em when they get REALLY ripe. Looks good enough to eat to me though.

oh, they taste VERY good haha...i was just hesitant because the last time i ate too many under ripe bananas i got constipated. but, they didn't have any spots on them. i guess i'll just listen to my body and go from there. thanks for the responses! :)

good to eat but not enough for a raw gourmet!

I like them just like your picture, a few speckles, a little green just on the ends. The texture of really ripe, soft bananas is incredibly off-putting to me. So, yeah, it's to your taste. :)

I usually wait until they have a little more than that and do not have any green on them.

When I was in the States, shopping at a big grocery store during the winter (rather than here at the farmer's market or small health food store), the green would never completely go away. My husband said it was because they were probably not "bagged long enough before they were picked". He worked at a farmer's market in Brazil as a teen, so he's my personal tropical fruit expert! :) (Doesn't mean he's right, though! He doesn't know EVERYthing! :p)
