We all know Alissa advises losing the scale to release weight, but I didn't get it...until now.

Lately, I have been discouraged about not losing weight. Because of everything I think I know, I attributed this to be from eating too much. I’ve been raw for over 4 months. Most of my weight loss happened in the first 2 months. I lost 33 lbs, then got stuck at 190lbs. I assumed I was eating to much, and started counting calories. It didn't change anything. My weight just kept flucuating between 190 and 193. I've been telling myself I'll never break into the 180's. What a sad, bad attitude. I should know better.

My discouragement came through in a response I gave in a thread about measuring nuts. Thank you, VeganForLife for that gentle kick in the rear. On top of that, last night I picked up a book that a friend had given my husband. It fell open on this page:

The Secret and Your Body

Let’s look at the creative process for those who are overweight and want to lose weight.

The first thing to know is that if you focus on losing weight, you will attract back having to lose more weight, so get “having to lose weight” out of your mind. It’s the very reason why diets don’t work. Because you are focused on losing weight, you must attract back continually having to lose weight.

From The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

Whether you accept the premise put forth in the book or not, there are a lot of great ideas and quotes in it. The idea is that all possibilities exist. Our thoughts become our reality.
The solution; ASK for what you want, BELIEVE you will receive it, RECEIVE it.

I am writing down my perfect weight of 130lbs and placing it over the readout on my scale. I am not weighiing myself again.

Love this quote. Thank you for sharing! I ditched the bath scale 10 years ago. Talk about freedom. I measure my progress by how my clothes are fitting. Much more exciting and less taxing on the emotions IMHO. :)
