I used frozen corn to make Alissa's corn chips and they came out bitter.

I always use frozen corn...they come out great...turn the dehydrator up to 145 for the first hour or so then turn it down. The food will not reach that high, just the air around it. Bitterness may be caused by the corn fermenting a bit if not started off higher...just my experience~

Tried making them with raw corn and also frozen. Both times they smelled putrid and tasted horrid. The texture was bad too.

I've made some corn chips recently with raw frozen corn, sunflower seeds, hemp, salt....whatever else it called for...and it was not very yummy. It did seem to have some bitterness to it.
HOWEVER, the Rawritos are FANTASTIC. They are made with raw frozen corn and soaked sunflower seeds along with seasonings. Everyone in my family picks these as one of the top favorites as far as crackers go. I'd recommend that recipe over other corn chip recipes. Check those out! You can find them easily by typing it in the search.

Thanks Rinda,
I really miss corn chips. I'll be sure to give the Rawritos a try!
