I just read a book called the Raw Life by Paul Nison. It has a lot of good information in it. One thing he brought up was the idea of not only eating raw but to try to life a "Natural Life", including not wearing make-up or using things like lotions.
Out of curiosity, how many of you wear make up and/or use lotions? For me, I haven't worn make up in about 5 years, except for occaisionally using a tinted lip gloss like Burt's Bees. I still use some lotions and natural deodorants.

I got into natural products prior to raw. I use natural makeup & other personal care products, household, etc. True natural, not the stuff that still has a lot of harmful chemicals in it. Would love not to use anything, but that's not realistic for me & some others. I do like a more natural look though with makeup. Most wear way too much and they really don't need it. Makeup is meant to enhance your look, not add a mask. I think a lot of women don't realize how beautiful they are naturally. I hope in the future to go without altogether.

I try to use natural products as often as I can. I have some coconut organic lotion I use once in awhile.
natural house, natural body. i hardly use anything anywhere that i can't put into my mouth. i will admit to occasionally putting on mascara if i'm doing something fancy but i can't be bothered mostly. i haven't dyed my hair in years, i don't even shave anymore. i do like essential oils as fragrance but that's the only scented anything i can tolerate.

I stopped using acne pads and lotion once going raw. I still use deodorant because it feels kind of uncomfortable not having any on. It's another habit I will try to break.

I'm with Coco, I can't be bothered. I use a natural deodorant stone every now and then, and lately I've used the coconut oil/castor oil cleanse some evenings. I usually use soap nuts for my laundry and distilled vinegar and baking soda for cleaning. I've been doing this for many years, regardless of my eating habits.

I only wear make-up 1-2x a year for events pertaining to dh's work. I use coconut oil to clease and moisturize when needed and I use burt's bees lip balm occasionally. That's about it

I do not wear any makeup except for a super grand occasion. I use coconut oil for moisturizing. I am back using shampoo as the baking soda wasn't giving good results. I use a natural soap for my teeth or I rinse with saltwater.

My 100% Sad-eater brother uses so much deodorant that i am getting coughing attacks when i am 2 meters away. No need to cover my natural smell. Some washing once a while:D. The best lotions are honey, cacao, avocado, olive oil, coconut oil. Best skin ever:)

I use natural, cruelty-free makup and personal care products. I like a more natural look.. If I dress up, I may use a darker or redder lipstick, but usually use tinted lip gloss every day. At gigs, I sometimes wear glitter eye liner by Urban Decay. They have vegan products, which I do like.

I rarely use lotion. No need for me unless my skin is dry. I do use some on my toenail because of *cringe* fungus. As for makeup, I always use nail polish. I just like it. I have tried that Watercolors kind and I didn't like it at all. Doesn't wear well and it's hard to take off. I use some mineral makeup. Foundation, blush and concealer. That's about it. Sometimes lipstick or gloss but mostly just some Rosebud salve.

I promised myself to be respectful for all that I currently have, so I didn't toss anything out...well, maybe a few things. But as I run out of things like make-up, lotions, etc. I ask myself if I really need to replace it and if the answer is yes, I find a vegan product. For me it's a win-win. I respect the money I spent on it in the past (by not throwing it out) and respect my future by not running out for a replacement item I really don't need.

I use freshly-clubbed baby seals for lotion.

That's kind of how I'm approaching it. I just can't bring myself to toss $100+ worth of skin care products.
Oh, Robison, you are a hoot. But seriously, I wonder what's in some of those products???

I am still in a transitioning phase with my cleaners and make-up. When things run out I try to find a more earth-friendly vegan alternative. I would rather not throw things out if they are still usable, nor do I have the money to do so. Does anyone know of any vegan eyeliner, preferably liquid? That is still my only make essential and has been for years.
