Hello there,
I know this has been brought up before. I have done the banana, but could not find much. I am not good at finding other threads. I am losing too much weight. I have read and have Alissa's book-about your true self and believe that. I plan on doing more avocados and nuts. I also plan on starting weight work out at home on Monday. I am simplely wondering if anyone has any suggestions or things that have worked for them besides what I plan on doing. Thanks.

When I use the banana search, I make sure to search titles only. I can find things much better that way. You may already be doing that.
I know there is a regular recent poster who has been using raw foods to gain weight. The member also posts high calorie recipes they are using.
Wish I could help more...

Are you sure that you have a problem.
I went down to 108lbs when I first went raw but came back up to 117 without changing my diet in any way.
I was worried, as were my family and friends, that I was too skinny and looked ill but now I look healthy and natural.
I had only been about 120 lbs before raw.

Hey Guys,
Sport interesting-I was 122 before I went raw and I just got my weight before I left work on Friday/yesterday and it was 108. I guess I get a little worried watching it keep going down. So I probally should just hang in there.
Also I am mostly raw, but not 100% trying to get there.
Gilmore girl-my diet consists of 2 8 oz of juice from my juicer each day-about 32 oz of greeen smoothie-I do the Hallelujah diet so I also drink two glasses of barley max a day. Then during the day I eat anywheres from 4-5 peices of fruit and usually a salad for lunch. Dinner I eat some cut up vegetables, another salad and misc like grucomale with organic tor. chips or a recipe I have made from one of my raw uncooked books.
Thanks for your repsonses :)

What is "too much"?
First of all, I'd do more fruit and greens than avos and nuts. Avos and nuts stop the body from digesting fruit sugars which give you energy. Avos and nuts give you fat.
Weight training is good. That's what will build muscle.

Hi Lori Ann,
It looks like you need to eat a lot more fruit. Focus on the higher calorie fruits like bananas, dates, and mangoes. Have two large smoothies each day with at least 4 to 5 bananas, some dates and other fruits in each smoothie. Eat those plus other fruits during the day and your veggies and salads and you will have no problems gaining weight.
Have a lovely day!!
Blessings,
Audrey

I just read a book called the Raw Life which includes many interviews with long time raw fooders etc. One thing that was mentioned in that book it is not fret too much over loosing a lot of weight at first. It is your body's way of cleasing itself (a lot of toxins are stored in the body fat). The weight will come back to its correct weight.
I wish I could give you my extra weight, oh, but you wouldn't want mine, its loaded with toxins:p.

When I started out I was doing the Hallelujah diet too! I kind of got off of it because I didn't like the juicing in the morning, but I still do the barley max. FYI Hallelujah has a formum too, but they are not too active. This forum is WAYYYY better!:)

Lori Ann, I got into raw from the H Diet as well! I think that diet really has the overweight masses in mind. It's a wonderful diet, but maybe add some foods to your morning routine, about an hour after the juicing. You'll still get the cleanse, but it will help you gain some weight. Bananas are great for gaining weight, and yes, avocados!
Just some suggestions :) Above all, listen to your body! It will tell you what is right and what it needs and when ^__^
Same story. lost too much weight, started to look sickly, shivering all the time, hair falling out etc. Never really got much better but I'm sure I didn't give it long enough. Fats DID NOT help me gain weight at all just so you know.
I recommend lifting weights but that's all the help I can give.
