I'm visiting with a friend in her condo complex this weekend and I discovered there are orange and lemon trees scattered all over the property! The lemons are ripe. :D If this weren't enough, I was taking the recycling out to the bin this morning and I heard this crackling sound around the corner. As I was nearing the sound I saw a great big tree and "stuff" dropping out of it making a loud noise. I laughed to myself and walked around it thinking that's all I need is to get hit in the head. But when I looked down I realized the stuff dropping out of the tree were these great big walnuts!! So I dumped out the recycling stuff and cleaned up with some walnuts. How cool is that?!! :D I did save a few for the squirrels that seemed to be giving me bad looks. I think they were the ones knocking the walnuts out of the tree. hahaa. LOL. Just wanted to share it doesn't take much to make me happy anymore and I feel abundant and very grateful in finding this beautiful walnut tree.

Have a great weekend everyone.

AWESOME!!! such instances just make my day!!!

me and my bf were driving to Chicago (going to a raw restaurant and some other stuff) and all of a sudden he says OH You'll LIKE THIS! and pulls over by a McDonald's.. i thought it was some kind of a cruel joke but then i realized that he spotted a pear tree!!! so we grabbed a whole bunch of pears (half were on the ground rotting...and nobody ate them :( instead they were stuffing themselves with double cheeseburgers nextdoor uuh)

mmm it was a RAWsome PEAR day!!!

Your going to love your walnuts. I can eat as many walnuts as I want when they come right off a tree....when I get them from the store, I get cankers after eating so many. ENJOY!!!

Hearing that is so mad, lemons, oranges and walnuts just falling off trees how I'd love to have that. I never had a fresh walnut, come to think about I never had a fresh orange or lemon. All these beautyful fruits are imported and I think they loose something traveling, they need a warmer climate than where I am.

Thats awesome!

Recently I noticed my neighbors had an apple tree that over hung on my apartment property. I tried one and they were SOOOOO GOOOOOD! I've been eating a few a day. I'm trying to come up with more recipes using apples because there are so many on the tree and no one else eats them.

when i lived in tucson arizona there was an apartment complex on orange tree road that was known for its citrus trees. i think they must have had about 200 trees that gave LOADS of fresh oranges and grapefruits.
the residents were encouraged to pick the produce every season that lasted from about december to march.
it was not a gated community and i use to sneak in there to gather the fruits that had fallen from the trees. from what i understand not all the reisdents took advantage of the free fruit.
if anyone is thinking about moving to Tucson Arizon... THATS the place to live LOL !

It's interesting how ones thoughts of "treasure" changes and what pleases. In class this week we were doing an experiment on chlorophyll. The instructor had a big bag of arugula for the experiment. I had to refocus and stop myself from thinking about what a great salad it would make. Never thought I'd covet someone's bag of greens :)

This has motivated me to plant a couple more trees in my yard!
