Hello :)
I have recently gone raw and have a question ....
This weekend I am going shopping for various items what would you consider staples besides fruits and veggies for me to have? Also I want to pick up different kinds of nuts now if they are not labeled as raw they aren't? And should I not get nuts that aren't labeled raw? Also what about dried fruits?
Please help me I'm ready to embrace living raw
Lots of love!
and thank you
-Gabby

Usually if its not labeled raw it has been pasteurized or roasted. You will want it to say raw. Good luck finding raw nuts though, it can be tough. Dried fruits are usually fine. Its always best to dry them yourself of course. I got a dehydrator at a thrift store a few months back and use it just about every day.

Staples are different for everyone but here is what I'm getting a lot of lately:(all organic) Spinach (taste best in green smoothies), mixed salad greens, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, garlic, ginger, bananas, what ever other fruit I'm craving, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, flax seeds.

Some of these things I grow myself in my garden.

Have fun at the store.

I think you are on the right track. You need things that are handy and ready to eat. Baby Carrots are great as are Avacados. Making Crackers and keeping them with you when you are away from home. Bananas come in their own sealed container and you can always throw one in the car.

I don't leave home without my freezer bags in the car and a lunch bag that keeps things cold.

Take this Journey one day at a time and you will do fine. I wish you All the Best...

Do you have Alissa's book and DVDs? They answer just about every newbies question imaginable, and this forum of course! ;)
Read, search, ask, learn. You'll get there.
