i had heard that we shouldn't "overeat" acid fruits as they can cause some problems?! the recommendation i read was that one should not eat more than 2 large oranges, 1 grapefruit or half a pineapple a day. i just bought 4 kilos of oranges and was planning a nice mono meal tomorrow (and more in the near future). there are other raw foodies out there that eat a fair amount of acid fruits each day, right?

It's always funny to me when people lay out "guidelines" or rules like that. Where do they get those numbers? Why not 3 oranges, 1/2 grapefruit and 3/4 pineapple? Where do they draw the line?

I eat whatever fruit I feel to eat whenever I feel to eat it. Those "acid" fruits turn alkaline in our bodies which is a good thing. You might want to check out TheGardenDiet.com. That family goes through a couple of cases (give or take) every week. Their kids basically grew up on oranges.

In our last interview I asked Storm if he was still a huge proponent of oranges. Paraphrasing here but I recall him saying when he's out of oranges he has no food in the house.

By the way "overeating" of anything is not a good thing just by the word itself but, who's to say what that is?

Silly question, but what is a monomeal? Just having the same food all day? That sounds like my style of eating. ;)

revvell--thanks for your post. you really put things in perspective--as always!

juliesvoyage2--a mono meal is bascially eating one food until you are satisfied. it eases digestion even more because the body is now only digesting 1 food. i usually feel very energized after a mono meal.

These fruits are not acid forming so do you no harm.
