Hello everyone - just wanted to let you all kow that responded to my worry about going today for a med follow up with my doctor - dont know why he makes me nervous because he is ice - he isnt a stern type if doctor and if he is in a nice way LOL

But anyways....

He was pleased about my weight loss and that I have been exercising and walking - said if I lose more weight he will then take me off my blood thinner - which is good.....and my blood pressure is border line but thinks if I continue this journey and stay with it that will go down - thinks I coudl be nervous about the office visit - went down from the time I got there and then when we were talking - LOL,...plus says I have hypertension but I know given sometime on this new way of life that will all soon disappear - next follow up in Jan and by then I expect to have more weight off and blood pressure be much better and so many more ailemnts...

Told him I have more energy this past month that it irritates me when I try to lay on couch and watch TY - I am up within 5 minutes doing something LOL...which is an awesome thing - just being funny...

I asked him his opinion on food and healing and he didnt seem to see the light of what I am doing - even though I didnt tell him exactly what i am doing - just eating better - but his theory on food healing ailments was sort of off of course - so i didnt get into what I am doing - he will just see the results and then I will hit him with it LOL

Thanks everyone for all your help...

Took our my dehydrator today and started reading instructions - does anyone do any of the pre treatments to the foods before dehydrating them - such as soaking, blanching etc etc?

Thanks ALL!!

Glad the dr.s visit wasn't too horrible, LOL.

I am currently soaking/sprouting wheatberries and buckwheat for two of Alissa's recipes; can see the tails starting. I haven't done this for a while, so I will post how they turn out.

I have sprouted wheatberries before (over a year ago) and it is pretty easy. I used them in a mango bread recipe for the dehydrator and rejuvelac.

I have never done the blanching thing before.

Glad dr. seemed encouraged to remove you from thinner eventually. I am believing you will be drug free with a great testimony. Only you can do that however.

Doctors get very little nutrition information in med school. They basically parrot back whatever they are "taught," if anything.

Many are fat and overweight, and I don't take advice seriously from someone who can't get it together him or herself.

My thoughts exactly.

Great news Sandy. I had a similar experience when I was heavily entrenched in the medical world working with doctors and surgeons. They couldn't grasp what I was doing, but they encouraged me to keep doing whatever I was doing because it was working! ;) Best wishes.

Great job, Sandy. Don't expect your doctor to be impressed with your methods, even once you can show him the end results. Doctors firmly believe that their pharmaceutical company provided education is all there is to medicine, and everything else is just coincidence. From talks with my oncologist, for example, I came to the conclusion that he firmly believes, cancer is a chemotherapy drug deficiency and could not possibly have ANYTHING to do with lifestyle.
