Actually, it's NOT a dumb question and no question is dumb. It's how we learn.
I personally do not eat them, but aren't some Mexican dishes prepared using them? Cooked dishes I mean.
I think they would be very fibrous...
And from what I've googled I don't see ANYwhere where one could eat it.

You're probably thinking of something like tamales. They are used as a wrapper to contain the tamale before it's cooked but that's it, just a wrapper.

I've used the silk to make tea. But I wonder too, maybe not the tough outer leaves, but the ones closest to the ear maybe edible??? But they are awfully FIBROUS.

As Veganforlife stated, the only thing I know of using them for is tamale wrappings for when the tamale is steamed. Before eating, it's unwrapped and discarded.

I would think that they're edible, since tamales are cooked in them. When we had rabbits, I always remember the corn leaves as being one of their favorite food.
They are probably too fibrous to eat, but maybe they could be juiced?
I've never eaten them, so, proceed at your own risk.
