i know many of you probably know this, but i still thought it was worth sharing :)

ive been battling a minor cold/sinus infection or headache the past couple of days, but if i cut up a clove of garlic and put it on a tablespoon of raw honey with a bit of cayenne, within 5 mins i get a very large amount of relief (runny nose that helps me decongest, and actual pain relief too!) - moreso than what i would get from advil or sudafed even. AND i know at the same time these three ingredients are actually helping my body heal, as opposed to just suppressing the symptoms.

the effect lasts around 6 hours or so, and then i take another dose and voila! awesome again. it's seriously incredible, fast-acting, and overall highly beneficial. yay :D

super cool

ps
i dont even mind the taste. if you like garlicy food, you probably wont either. the honey takes away the "sting" from so much garlic at once and the cayenne also, so you just taste the garlic and feel the warmth of the cayenne.

Thank you SO much. I've been struggling with this for a couple of weeks. Whenever the weather changes I have problems, but I think I must be going through some major detox also.

I'll do this tonight. Thanks again!

Luce,
I have a neti pot..but not sure what sort of salt to use with it. I read that sea salt is not ideal...what is best?

I use sea salt. They say that because it's stronger and some folks maybe sensitive to it. I've never had an issue. If it "burns", pour some water out and add more water and less salt next time. Sea salt is the best. I couldn't use the neti pot salt. We had at the HFS a package that got ripped and we have an "employee box" were we can take home damaged items. Me, being the only one using a Neti pot, took it home and THAT stuff burned. Not sure what that was. It said sodium something or another. That taught me to only use sea salt.
The first time make it more diluted.

Great idea! Garlic (and onions) are good mucus busters. Also gives a boost to your immune system to help fight the illness. Do you use the garlic clove with the skin on? I read that can be beneficial, too.

Do you have any or know of any books/websites/etc. that give some more detailed information on using a Neti Pot. I have had sinus issues since childhood and I've just now come upon - Neti Pot. I've done a preliminary search on line but haven't found any detailed HOW TO information. Any info would be appreciated.

Blessings,
Heather

I am currently struggling with a sinus infection and just took some minced garlic & cayenne in a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar. It was FOUL but I hope it will help.

I was feeling some major burn in my chest so I ate some really dark leafy greens to help alkalize my stomach a bit. I hope this doesn't disrupt the healing properties.

I found this demo for the neti pot. Ignore the salt advertisement.

Add a little cut up horse radish to your combination (garlic, honey, cayenne) and it is not only great for what you were talking about but it is also know to be a strep throat remedy.
