Morn

Ok peeps who is in with me for the Month of October! This thead is for anyone who wants to get serious about their commitment to get moving and exercise. You all know the drill. You pick what you want to do and your weekly/monthly goals and come here when you do it and post what you do for the day. Any form of exercise is acceptable, - walking, running, biking, aerobics, swimming, martial arts, yoga, rebounding, weight liifting, etc. The key is to get that body moving!

This is an excellent way to be held accountable before all your raw exercise friends and most of all yourself. Now for anyone who is on the fence about joining thank about all the holiday parties that are coming up in a few months and how you want to look fabulous in those threads! You have a few months to fit in that tiny little black dress and you can do it if you start now!

My goal is to exercise 5 days and week and have fun doing so! What are your goals and who is with me!:D

O.K. MORN!!! You talked me into it!!! :) I do really need this!!!

O.K., Here's what I'm gonna do:

Because I work the RED EYE Shift twice a week, those will be my rest days because I am literally a zombie usually those days! All other days I will commit to doing no less than 30 minutes 5 days a week. My goal will be 1 hour a week, but since I homeschool, I may only get to do 30 minutes some days.

I'm also going to put a reminder in my phone so that I will not forget!!! :) I will try to post daily, or every other day....

Thanks for this thread! I'm gonna start tomorrow...even though this starts in October...what can I say, I've always been a zealous one!!! :o

See ya on the Bike Trail!!!

Great to have you both on board. It will be great to have the company.

5 days a week for all of us! We will all be looking mighty fine come December!

No stress of pressure here so if you miss a day just kick it in gear the next!

October is going to be a fabulous month!

Hi all,

Just saw this thread (thanks ReneeH for mentioning it on the monthly raw challenge board)
anyhoo, this is perfect because I just started exercising daily and it would be great to post results/challenges/etc.

Okay, so in the past I was just bicycling and I have just added the rebounder yesterday, so my goals this week.

Exercise 5-6 days a week for 1 hour. I plan to break it up so it can be 30 minutes Rebounder, 30 minutes bike or treadmill or fluidity or 1 hour fitness tape.

Will post my exercise for today later.

Terri

Hi Folks - I have made an attempt previously to commit to exercising every day, but somehow (?) got off the track and didn't follow through. So I'm going to try it again this month. I actually started two days ago on Monday....I really felt that I needed it as we just got back from a cruise and, of course, ate too much. This month I'm going to make a real effort to eat more raw and exercise. I actually work at the front desk of a health club, so there's really no excuse for me not exercising....just laziness I guess. So I'm really going to make a real effort this month - no excuses!! Good luck to all of you!!:)

I am a rock climber, so I hope to get into the gym more as well as outdoors and supplement with some cardio training. My goal is two days a week in the gym and one day a week doing some form of cardio. I also hope to get on an outdoor trip at least once a month. It's going to be hard to do that for the rest of the year, but I have one trip planned in November. I just need to get at least one in here in October :)

Ok - Today I want you all to think of why you are doing this (meaning exercise) and if you want, post it here cause I would love to hear your motivation as well. I think if we focus on why we want and need to do this, it will be easier mentally to engage on the days WE JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING IT!

My motivation right now is I want to maintain my weightloss and tone up areas that need attention. I also want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and quite frankly I have more energy and feel better the rest of the day when I do. If I am tired and push myself to exercise anyway I have a ton of energy afterward and feel great. I also like staying the size that I am.

What are your Reasons? Think of these when its tough and you feel like your going to die. NO pain NO GAIN - RIGHT! Unfortunately this saying is true. Nothing comes easy. IF you want it you have to pay your dues! Good for all of you who are commiting yourselves to making postives changes in your life and for all who do it to continue in good health!

WE deserve it - we deserve to take the time for ourselves and make it happen!

Ok enough pep talk!:D

roll call...I'm here...

Been off for two days from exercise but today back to Turbo 1 hour killer class for sure. Hoping some weight training too at least 30 minutes. Maybe a dip into the sauna. Gotta make up for lost time. Last two days super busy.

Seem to be collecting from thrift store weights and not sure why either since I use the gyms everything.

My motivation is to lose those 20lbs by my birthday (Nov 17th). I know I probably won't lose that much by then but I would be happy with 10lbs! I also want to do some 5k and 10k's next year and also triathlons (I did one in 2001 and loved it..hence my screen name). I was very active about 7 years ago but herniated a disc in my back and went through pyschical therapy on and off for 2 years and then I had severe migraines that were really bad for a year after that. So I also want my health back! Thank goodness my back has not given me much problems anymore and I get my migraines only once in awhile now. I also want to look good again!

Those are my motivations.

Oh, Morn, I found 10 # weights at thrift store and many other sizes too that I have to hide from hubby.

Today I fulfilled my commitment as posted earlier + did a SQUAT clinic they were having too on proper positioning of bar and also squats without bar + if I wish a personal training session I can one too. I have taken several months of training which now I realize trainer was "BAD" compared to what I see now and know not to be so impatient next time when hiring a trainer. Live and learn.

I am missing ONE running new shoe...I can't find it...I wanted to return it cause it doesn't fit + it is defective inside, but with one shoe they will never help me. I hope it is lost in my car trunk or back seat. Called gymS and not found yet. I suppose it's been missing for several days. Yesterday I lost my vegan lipstick that I can't find anywhere on market. I don't remember name, but could have been Kiss my Face if in wooden tube. Then I realized I lost my pricey $15 WF lipstick recently too...my gosh...oh, I lose earrings too...usually one earring...isn't this amazing....

See why I have to start selling on ebay so that I can replenish my losing stuff habit.

My gosh....don't even tell my husband!

I am training for the LA Marathon and am supposed to be running 5 times a week but for the past couple of weeks I have only done 3 runs.
My goal is to run 5 days a week (barring illness, of course) and to do at least one other fitness activity a week (pilates etc)

Already went for run today and plan to do tomorrow....
Good luck everyone!

Hi! I made it through the weekend and actually did work out at least a little bit over the weekend. My main motivation is to look and feel better (of course!) I really do feel better when I exercise - just more flexible and not so old and achy:p (Ha! Ha!) I'm finding that what's working for me, at least for now, is to get my situps done in the morning before work and my other exercising (either treadmill, bike and weights or taking a class) right after work. The evenings before bed is a great time for some stretching and relaxation exercises. That way, I'm getting a little exercise in a few times of day instead of all at one crack. Glad to hear that everyone else is doing well!!! Keep it up!!

Would it be to late for me to jump in on this months challenge?

I am fairly new - about a month but doIng 21.2 pounds and need to incorporate more exercise then what I have been doing?

If I can take part I will commit to 30-60 minutes a day of cardio and some weights - a few days it would only be 30 minutes due to schedule and a few could be 60 - so i would committ to 5-6 days of exercising with at least one day for complete rest....

I will post daily what I have accomplished daily and with food...

Let me know and I will jump on LOL

My motivation is that I'm SICK AND TIRED of being SICK AND TIRED!!! I know that exercize will give me the extra boost I need...I just need to stick with it!

The last couple of days have been tough! My Sister had an emergency and I was babysitting her 2 kids (ages 6 & 2 months) for the past 2 days! I haven't had a moment to even post since they've been here! I really was so worn out from taking care of the new baby and Homeschooling my two and entertaining my 6 year old neice, I considered that exercize enough!!!

Anyway, I just bidded them a tearful goodbye 20 minutes ago and now I think I'm ready to "get back to work"...on me that is... tomorrow...

So, tonight I'm gonna get a good night's sleep and be ready to jazz it up in the AM!!!

I have been feeling down lately because the weight isn't coming off as fast as I would like and I have been working out 4-5 days a week. Today I took my resting heart rate. It was 54! Last time I took it (about 2-3 weeks ago) it was 65! So that made me feel better knowing my workouts are finally doing
something for me ;) I still am struggling with running. I can never seem to run more than 2-5 min at a time before I have to walk and this is week 5 I think of me running again. Anyone have suggestions on how I can break past that 2-5 min range? I have set a goal for myself to run a race in my town on Thanksgiving Day. It is only a 5k (3.1) but I would love to run the whole thing without having to walk.

workout today

25 min jog/walk
15 min stretching and abs

I might do free weights and total gym later

I have set my sites on a half marathon in Feb in Sarasota and then back to the tri circuit. I love to workout, but I so desperatley need a goal/finish line outside of just working out! Congrats on completing your last tri! THat is so great! It is also inspiring to many that you have such ambitious goals. But it just goes to show that we all need something to help motivate us and many of us have different goals and reasons why we need to do IT! I hope you join us here at RFT when you are ready to jump in!:D

Hey people-
Just checkin' in. I'll plan on "hanging out" with everyone on the November thread. We were blessed with a nice day yesterday (started getting unusually cold for this time of the year) so my sister and I decided to take a nice long walk outside (just over an hour) on the trails. Lots of inclines, slopes, sunshine and fresh air!

Hi everyone!!! Been super busy homeschooling today, so I haven't done anything yet... Gonna get on the stationary bike for 30 minutes before I go to bed...not too close to bedtime though, I think that messes with your sleep habits...??? I don't know, am I right? Or, is that an individual thing?

I think it must be an individual thing cause exercise before bed for me makes me more relaxed and ready to sleep. But if I exercise earlier in the day it can give me more energy (if I am tired) and give me a second wind. Kind of strange huh? I also think though that it has to do with what kind of exercise you choose to do.
