Hello,
I just don't feel right trying to add more raw food to my children's lunches and sending them off with a plastic water bottle. Does anyone know of any resources to purchase a non plastic water bottle? (Wouldn't it be greata if they made lunch size bottles too?).

I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area, but reading over the forum I could not find a 'general discussion' type forum.

Thank you for any input.

Have a great day! :)

I love my stainless steal Klean Kanteen. http://www.kleankanteen.com/ I think they make a lunch-box size.
I think it's wonderful that you're introducing your kiddies to raw food. I wish you all the best!

I highly recommend Klean Kanteens. They are by far the safest water bottle available.
Second recommendation, though not as high...the Sigg bottle. http://www.mysigg.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=26
Siggs are supposedly safe, but I don't feel like they're AS safe as KK.
However, KK weighs more than Sigg, so the Sigg might be easier for your kids to lug around.
Siggs also come in many colorful kid-friendly designs. Klean Kanteen now offers colored bottles but they're not as fun and they're painted, so the color does wear off fairly easily.
Good luck!

Thank you so much. Kleen Kanteen has different lids with different colors so I will let them pick what they want. Thanks for the ideas!!!!!!!!!!

I second the siggs. Those are cool. http://mysigg.com/

Another option is to just get a 6-pack of San Pellegrino, dump out the carbonated water and use those.

I use the really big SP bottle for storing almond milk in the fridge for a few days.

My guess is that they can't take glass to school, right?

So the canteen are the best option

When home use mason jars.

Why, if you go through the expense to buy San Pellegrino, would you dump out the water? That's natural spring water bottled at the source that you're wasting! Make some raw soda :) .

Bottled then carbonated. My stomach doesn't like carbonated.

I've used both for my dc. I bought Siggs last christmas. Those things DID NOT stand up to the test. They were dented within a week or 2. I bought Kleen Kanteens for this year and *I* accidentally dropped it on our brick steps the other day and it got just the tiniest dent. If I'm not mistaken Kleen Kanteens are a bit cheaper priced too.

It's not a good idea to reuse plastic bottles for long, leaches chemicals into water.

This is a good thread. I actually have not bought a SIGG, only know about them because my friend had one when I was thinking of buying some fancy non plastic bottle. She raved about it. But I was happy with spending $5 or whatever on 6 SP bottles.

I was checking out the other ones posted here. Those seem pretty neat! :)

LL Bean.com is my choice. We own three of the 18 oz...Klean Kanteens. ;) They have slightly different color choices at LL Bean. They are awesome!

My Klean Kanteen has been dropped many times, and it has a few tiny dents but is still attractive and useable. If it can survive me (read, biggest klutz ever) then it can survive anything.
I couldn't say the same about a glass water bottle, that would be shattered by now.
