there are so many things to choose from but i have found the best thing that goes over very well with everyone is just a salad with a nice dressing. when i load it up with shredded carrot and beet, lots of lovely sprouts (sunflower greens and sprouted lentils), avocado, etc, people just gobble it up and say how great it was. most salad is so boring, mine are always a gorgeous work of art with lots of colour, shapes and flavours.

next is a fruit platter, that's always a hit too.

I agree with coco. A fresh fruit platter of cut up fruit - the basics - strawberry, pineapple, grapes, kiwi - always a huge hit and appreciated by all!

A fruit salad consisting of:

Apples/Pineapple/Dates/Walnuts with a bit of cinnamon.

This has gone over really well for me.

I love my Stir-Fresh. it's always at huge hit at raw and SAD potlucks...let me see if I can find the recipe around here...brb.

ETA: Here it is:

zucchini-cubed
yellow squash-cubed
snow peas
carrots-sliced thin, diagonally
kale or some kind of green cut into long thin strips
red, yellow, orange peppers cut in thin strips
broccoli
bean sprouts-save for top

dressing:
Bragg/Tamari/Nama Shoyu (I use Bragg because we gluten-free. I think it's important to make it gf if you are bringing to a crowd that you don't know very well)
ginger-fresh grated
garlic-minced
sesame oil
sweetener-I like stevia for this-it makes it very sweet.

Then add a generous amt of sesame seeds on top.

I took this to a raw potluck and the bowl was practically licked clean. My SAD CHEF anti-raw, incredibly negative and astonishingly unreasonable FIL (whom I love very much :p ) LOVES this and asks me to bring it for every occasion. It is the ONLY thing cooked and raw that I have EVER been able to get him to like.

Last night I brought the raw crunch bars to a potluck...huge hit.
Here's my version:

1.5 cups coconut butter (not oil)
1 cup (or a bit less) agave
tablespoon vanilla
3/4-1 cup carob powder
1-2 cups sprouted buckwheat

To sprout the buckwheat, soak 20 minutes, then rinse and sprout 6 hours. Stick in dehydrator overnight or until crispy at 105.
Mix liquid ingredients and add buckwheat last. Put in flat container and freeze or refrigerate until ready to take with you. Make sure and score it first so it comes out easily. :)

I went to one a few weeks ago and the jalepeno burgers were a huge hit! They are very easy to make and taste great.

1 jalapeņo pepper, finely chopped
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 cup walnuts, soaked for 4 hours
1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, soaked until very soft, reserve 1/8 cup soaking water
1 tablespoon Nama Shoyu
1 teaspoon Hamburger seasonings
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

In a food processor, combine walnuts, sun-dried tomatoes and soaking water until you achieve a meat consistency. Remove from processor.

In a mixing bowl, lightly mix together walnut meat, onions, jalapeno peppers, Nama Shoyu, salt and pepper.

Shape into 6 patties. Serve.

Optional: Dehydrate at 115 degrees for 1 hour.

Kristin, I'm attending a Pot Luck as well on the 5th, which state are you in ?
I was thinking of bringing almond milk and my own recipe of almond cookies.

These look great! But... what do you use for 'hamburger seasonings'?

I didn't have hamburger seasoning so I used a steak seasoning. I figured that was close enough to the hamburger seasoning.
