I once read...

"put something before your eyes to remind your heart/mind"

It was a phrase in a religious holiday book to help bring about inspiration.
Read it over a decade ago and used a variation of that statement during my last birth coaching experience.

Anyway Hubby is a veggie enthusiast. Meaning he enthuisiastically enjoys all the vegetarian, vegan a RAW Vegan creations I make. But still consumes meat when available, which is usually when he dines out cause I don't touch or prep meat.

So this Ramadan I ordered him a Gevali Coffee pot. One to get him off gas station caffeinated coffee crap and two to be open to the fact that tea and coffee after supper is a past time that he enjoys. So the comprimise is that he can enjoy it but it needs to be decaf and fresh and preferably organic.

So where was I headed with all this??!?!?!!?

Oh yeah so the point is the pot is now on the counter top in use a few times a week. He keeps it clean, it smells good while brewing and all is well.

So it dawned on me why don't I keep my VITAMIX out on the couter? You know something before my eyes to remind my heart/ mind of the way I should be eating.

I'm a less is more kinda gal so I don't like clutter everywhere, especially full counter tops. So it stays in the cabinet. Which often means that when I am hungry i'll do the easy, grab some corn chips and juice an go.
Maybe with the viatmix out and ready I'll be more likely to whiz my fruits and veggies with more regularity.

Yes! By the same principle, I keep several attractive baskets of fruits around just as much for the aesthetics as for food.

Thanks for your reply.

I know it was a corny post but....
I keep fresh foods out to, all the time.

We are a household of 6-7 ) one away in college, so food goes really fast around here.

The only person in my house who puts away the Vita-Mix is my hubby. I don't, because it gets used way too much to do all that takin' out and putting it away. So once in a while, hubby puts it away. Then I remind him that unless he wants to be hurt REALLY bad, he'll keep his paws OFF my Vita-Mix thank you very much, AND leave it OUT where we need it!:p

Ok so tommorow I' gonna make a batch of flax crackers and then stoere away my dehydrator ZEUS, which will leave plenty of room for my GAIA my vitamix.

Tucking the dehydrator away cause I don't use it much at all,. Just when i'm rerawing and trying to get agood batch of crackers going and ocassionally raw pizza crust oh and marinated shrooms. Damn all thsi sounds good guess I better leave it out.

I have a good size kitchen. With 4 counter top areas plus an island top. i just don't like stuff out.

Hmmm I'll figure it out.

Thanks all :)

Zeus, my dehydrator will be coming our of hiding tonight. Gaia my Vitamix has been hanging on the counter top a while now. Probably need to put her center stage on the island.

I wish it was easier to down load my camera, I'd take pics to share.

Problem is we have 1400+ pics on the camera, 1200 of which have been put on disc so no problem but the other 200 plus need to be printed or transferred and we don't ant to bog down the computer. DD17 has many potential yearbook pics on there that she need s to move asap c'casue I'm ready to use "MY" camera for Raw creations and before and afters.

my two juicers (champion and greenstar), my vita mix and my food processor are all out on the counter. i love the ease of having them ready to prepare at any time.

but i like your philosophy of what i see will remind my heart. :D

My juicer and Vita-Mix and cutting board have prominent places of honor on our small kitchen counter. It drives my husband crazy, but he can complain all he likes. They are not budging. I compromise by keeping the food processor in the cupboard. :p

Absolutely - juicer and vitamix on the counter being used several times a day. Dehydrator on a table next to the kitchen. FP in the cupboard cause I don't use it as much. But if it was just me and I could get rid of the kettle and toaster...
