hey everyone, i have a silly question. what do the abbreviations mean? ds? and dd? other ones too?...i guess most refer family members, husband, daughter, etc. but i haven't been able to figure them out. can anyone fill me in?!? thanks :)

i can't tell you how much i dislike those abbreviations and they are used Everywhere! i mean, who goes around referring to their kids as "dear" daughter? what are we, eighty? sheesh.:p

This is one thing that doesn't irritate me so much as people using ppl or "u" instead of "people" and "you" but I do find it amusing. Why not just say "husband", "wife", "daughter", "son", etc.? Yeah, dear (or darling) son, etc. Ridiculous. Whoever came up with that and why do the sheeple follow?

Count me in as one of the "sheople" :LOL: After yrs (years) of charting/deciphering/ and using physicians abbreviations, I'd have to say (at least for me) that ol' habits die hard - still find myself using qd (every day), prn (whenever needed/necessary), etc along w (with) other abbreviations on forums ~ Cathy
