So Monday I'm going to start my first Master Cleanse - with some of you awesome folk here on the board! - and tomorrow I'll be getting my supplies. Beyond the lemons and maple syrup, though, I'd like to prepare my environment and some activities for the cleanse - I'm thinking about nice soothing baths, journaling, etc. So I was just wondering if any of you had suggestions for things to do during the MC - do you have books you recommend? music? movies? other activities? From what I've heard about it, I can only imagine that I'll be a bit introspective and focusing on mind/body/spirit connections. I'd love to hear what you did during your cleanse, or what you're planning on doing - or even just what you like to do when you're not on a cleanse, but are feeling a bit how I've described. To everyone starting Monday, too: let's have fun with this! I'm so excited!

First and foremost, ditch the TV. I don't own one and I don't know how people MC or fast with all those food commercials on.
Baths are good - loofah the skin, perhaps some epsom salts or a couple tablespoons of coconut oil works.
Music helps -- definitely something soothing -- more Mozart than AC/DC. Stevie Ray Vaughan is always a good choice.
I like re-read sites I've already visited about success stories, what to expect on detoxing, etc.
If possible, nice walks are good and meditating. It took me ages before I got into a meditation groove. Now I do it and will get into the zone anywhere from 15-45 minutes - I let my internal clock tell me when it's time to wrap.
I'm planning on starting another water fast Monday so I'll be with you in spirit on the MC.
Good luck!

I usually catch up on my reading.
Listen to music.
Journal.
Write.
Take a lot of epsom salt baths.
Walk.
Play in the sun. (fasting can sometimes bring a chill)
I definately concur with not watching the TV or even movies for that matter. But I find that I'm not that impacted by them if I do catch a food advertisement. I think it has to do with not seeing most of the food that's advertised as food anymore. But it's probably not a good idea to watch the tube while fasting.
Sometimes I have more trouble when I'm in the middle of a good novel and they're dining in it - your imagination tends to take over more when you're reading. Whatever it is that they're eating tends to get magnified in your mind. hahaaa!
Best wishes with your cleanse.

During my MC I also fast from television, and pointless chatter.
I take a long hot bath every night, and if my homework is done-I get to bed early and snuggle up with a good book.
The sun usually feels awesome-as I get chilly during the MC and I like to walk-take in nature.
Listen to music-is almost a must for me.
I am thinking about doing a cleanse (maybe MC), and read about people who take long baths, get rid of food in the house, etc..what about people who have families to cook /shop for etc? I have to be around food, and partake in "normal" activites as they come up in being a mom, and a fitness instructor/yoga teacher...I cannot take a 10 day break from life...am I doomed?

You're not doomed.....most of us cannot take a break from life.
I'm doing another MC, and like last year...I work over 50 hrs a week as a daycare provider for teachers (cooking 3 meals a day) and the mother of 2 girls, and my husband is a SAD eater. I do take a long hot bath after the kiddos are in bed-it's my treat during the cleanse (I rarely make time for them when I'm not doing a MC).
So, if you want to -you can do it!

NOPE, I still have to do all that stuff. I am a homeschooling mom of 2. I have to do the yard work, keep the house clean, shop for a family of 6 (my mom and dad eat dinner with us most nights), still prepare meals (with the sometimes exception that my hubby will like last night). Yesterday was day 1 and I did all my normal stuff plus 1 1/2 hrs. of yardwork, and today Day 2 I cleaned the house moving furniture etc. for 4 hours (we are getting ready to sell our house). So, I would say that my energy level is normal or better.
Blessings,
Heather
