sure, why not? people make all sorts of recipes using pumpkin.

Are you asking if pumpkin recipes use the same kind of pumpkins that we carve at Halloween?

If so, I've used the "sugar pie pumpkins" in the past as that is what I have read should be used. I made a raw pumpkin pie last Thanksgiving with this type of pumpkin and it was very good.


p.s. I got an organic sugar pie pumpkin at Whole Foods Market last year. Hope that helps!
