Hi -

Can someone help me with recommendations on effective, natural, raw cleansers for sensitive skin? Is sunflower. sesame oil, coconut oil good?

Thanks!

i oil cleanse each morning with castor oil. i hear that sunflower and castor oil mixed together is a great way to cleanse as well. my skin is very soft after oil cleansing. here is a helpful link: http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/

also, instead of lotion, i moisturize with coconut oil...leaves my skin glowing!

yes, i oil cleanse everyday. i use coconut oil a few times a week. i used to have acne...but it has cleared up with eating raw, oil cleansing and oil pulling! i don't seem to have sensitive skin though

is the coconut oil really moisturizing? i have very, very dry hands in the winter, especially waiting tables and washing my hands every 5 minutes. Could that work for me, you think?

When I wear make-up, I take it at night with raw avocado oil. In the mornings, I cleanse with honey (that solid, raw honey), and then put jojoba oil on. A little later, I may or may not put on some shea butter. (I have really dry skin).

I've been doing this for about 10 months and my skin has never looked better, or felt more moisturized.

Like I said, I use the raw, kind of solid type of honey, just because it's not as messy. I've bought it at Whole Foods and my local HFS.

I only cleanse my face with it in the morning. Take a little dab, barely wet my fingers and kind of rub it together to make it a little more pliable, smooth it all over my face, rinse it off with tepid water, and pat dry with a towel. With my skin still damp, I apply the jojoba oil or shea butter.

On weekends, when taking a bath, I'll do the above but leave the honey on for 20 minutes or so. Leaves my skin REALLY nice.

I don't see anything wrong with cleansing more than once a day. It's just that I use avocado oil of an evening to take off my make-up, and then rinse with tepid water. Because my face is already cleansed and moisturized from the oil, I don't feel I need to wash it again with honey.

No acne, but tend to have dry skin. I've also had rosacea in the past but it's just a mild case now that flares up every once in a while. I don't know if it's the honey, the raw diet, or the combination.

Ask away. I don't mind.
