Hey all who are looking for ways to eat raw on a budget...THIS thread is for those who CREATE MINI-SOCIAL GROUPS to post your group name, a link to it and a brief description of it...nothing more PLEASE (such as kudos, "thanks for starting this", etc.)
Example:
----------
Northwesterners and people on a budget unite!
(created by member Petaltothemetal)
I started a new social group for chatting among people who are most likely to be able to share foraging and gardening experiences. This group will exist for discussing NON-store bought food.
http://rawfoodtalk.com/group.php?groupid=5
----------
This way, if you live in, say, the UK and you want to share where to forage or where to shop and get the best deals or what have you...then you can start the social group and then post it in this thread as I have shown in the example above.
Simple enough?

There is a group that I'm a part of that does this. It's a meetup group that does a raw potluck every month. But the man who runs it has also started a sort of sustainable living group within the meetup group. They talk about foraging, gardening, etc. They're also going to share the food they grow to minimize the amount of food that we need to buy. AND he also started a sort of co-op. Everyone gives him their orders and money and he gets them the food at wholesale prices.
It's in Baldwin NY, USA

Oh, and he also has talks with well known raw foodists (the talks usually cost about $10) and we started making reusable shopping and produce bags (I'm the "teacher" for that).
*hugs*

I can see how going 100% raw would save money if you ate only the basics. Just raw produce, as is straight from the earth. None of that fancy yuppie vegan crap in plastic containers.
