I'm confused about your onion bread recipe-it calls for 2c sprouted buckwheat. Is that measurement give BEFORE or AFTER they have sprouted?

Good question. I was wondering the same thing making Alissa's wheat crackers yesterday. To me 2 cups sprouted whatever is 2 cups after sprouting. If it was before it would be 2 cups whatever, sprouted. Hope I am right. They were awesome anyway!!
If it says 2 c sprouted -- it usually means you would measure after they've sprouted. You can make a safe bet on that one.

okay...:D but then how much do I measure prior to sprouting and how long do I sprout them for?

Alissa's book gives amounts before sprouting and then the yield after sprouting. AND if you have any left over, dehydrate and make buckwheaties! GR8 with nut mylk, blueberries and bananas!

thanks. I'm brand new to buckwheat. I wasn't sure what to do with it. I haven't been able to get it til I found it at a new-to-me HFS.

Zaphirah - that info is also in my book in the new sprouting/soaking chapter;) but yes, sprouted measure is the amount post sprouting...sorry I didn't see this thread sooner! :D

that's okay. I got it figured out and have the yummy onion bread in the "d" right now. :cool:
