Everyone keeps talking about this massive energy surge they get from eating raw foods, and I'm sitting here thinking, "it's not fair!"

If I get 8 hours of sleep a night, I'm usually okay until about halfway through the afternoon when I just want to nap. If I get less than that, I'm useless all day. I know some people's sleep needs are more or less than others, but isn't it unreasonable that I should require 12+ hours of sleep a night to function normally? Does anyone else have any idea what might be going on here?

How long have you been raw for? Many people experience tiredness when they first go raw, due to detox.
Congrats on the weight loss, by the way!

Going on two years and I've never experienced the increased energy so many seem to mention. The idea of not having to sleep as much was a major draw for me, actually. I have defeated so many health problems (not just excess weight), but I'm still just so darn tired.

I find that when I do low fat raw, I have tons of energy. When I am eating the higher fat raw treats is when I get very tired. Hope you feel better soon.

Wow good to know I am not alone!

I have been 100% for the last 4 weeks and I am beat come mid-afternoon and I can't seem to get up in the mornings.:confused:

Well, don't feel alone. I've been Raw since, march and I suffer from fatigue also. I am learning that it might be part of candida. I have other symptoms also that lead me to this self-diagnosis. Which are similar to parasite infestations and probably other things. It can be so hard to figure things out. If I had the money I would go to a naturopath.
