I just purchased Alissa's book and DVD. Watched the DVD this weekend and have read about 1/3 of the book. So inspiring! What she says makes so much sense. I've been trying to maintain at least 75% raw for about a year now and I think that little bit of cooked food is what makes it more of a struggle. I've gone 100% for a couple weeks here and there and there IS a difference. You feel it, both physically and mentally. I joined the Sept 30 day raw challenge but ended up eating a little cooked food this past week. I'm not sure why. A lot going on and didn't get to the store for "my" food. I can't empty out my fridge and pantry like she says of all non raw food because I do have 3 children. With my son I could probably swing it, but I also have 2 foster daughters so it just isn't feasible I guess.

Anyway, I'm back 100% today and am going to try the four week recipe plan that Alissa has layed out in her book. She made most of them on her DVD and they all look both simple and yummy. I AM GONNA DO THIS! :D

I agree with what you said about Alissa's book and DVD. Both are SO inspiring!

I admire everyone here who is 100% raw! I am at about 90% raw, and though I feel pretty good, I guess I don't feel it the way the 100%ers do.

I know mentally that I should go 100%, but in reality: I eat 100% raw Mon-Fri but my weekends are difficult. Sometimes I have 6 days out of the week at 100% raw, sometimes it's only 5 days.

I seem to have the hardest time when my husband and I go out to eat. He's like, 'want to have Indian food tonight?' and I cannot say 'no' to that!! Same with Thai food! Grrr!!

Without a doubt - Alissa's book is THE best that is out there. I read the entire thing the first night I had it and then watched the DVDs the second night.

It all clicked and made sense!

i got Alissa's book after the china study and Sunfood DIet Success system so it didn't really teach me anything new or inspire in a different way...i guess i was already raw in my soul lol
BUT the DVD- oooooooooooh myyyyy!!! what a wonderful thing- it's so much easier to watch her do it than trying to pick out the recipes from a big book :D it finally got me to try the nut date torte and i LOOOVE IT :D

Hooray! you go girl! I am awaiting my book in the mail, but I have the DVD and it has been super helpful and inspiring! I have also been teetering on and off with cooked foods, but I am going 100% and I can also feel the difference within the last few days on 100% vs. 75%.

I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for mine to come in the mail. Why oh why is it taking so long...

I really needed the success stories in Alissa's book more than anything, especially the really long diary-type one that explains how the girl dealt with her family. The other books don't have these real true to life experiences in them and so there was always in the back of my head the thought that the previous pains and current glowing health might be exaggerated - or wishing the author had been more specific and less vague. Especially during detox the first week I really went raw (instead of just eating a lot more fruits and veggies like I was previously!). And when I'm frustrated over something (someone said something mean about my diet? being bored? wishing I lost weight faster?) I either go back to the book or here on the website.

Thank you, Alissa.

All good things come to those who wait...trust me...
