Hope I am not breeching any rules here by doing this but I thought it would be a great idea to come on here and let others know that I am doing a walk for Farm Sanctuary on Sept. 27th. I am trying to raise $1000.00. Almost impossible to raise any money in this little ranch community I live in but anyway, my web site to contribute to this walk is www.firstgiving.com/gwynneheard. Read "Diet for a New America" by John Robbins many years ago but recently bumped into Farm Sanctuary and watched about 3 seconds of a clip from the site and simply had to become active in doing something to create more awareness and compassion in the world. There is a time for sitting on our thumbs and a time to get up and take action. Just not eating meat is not always enough. Many creatures suffer horrible fates each day and the least of that is dying. So if anyone wants more info on this go to www.farmsanctuary.com. Any money contributed goes directly to farm sanctuary. I don't see a cent of it.

Thank you for getting out there and making a difference. I wish you a happy and successful walk! (and I hope you have nice weather, too)

I visited Farm Sanctuary in Orland, Ca. a couple of months ago. An amazing place and such a worthy cause. The animals there are so friendly and sweet, even the turkeys showed affection!

My (SAD eating) kids were so affected by the experience they are mainly vegetarian now.
