....more trouble than they're worth?

I got one today and was really psyched to use it tonight. Does anyone else think they are a PITA to use?

I don't know.. maybe I will try again tomorrow night to see if I like it any better, but I have zero veggie waste by using my food processor to make thin slices. I also have less waste by using my spiral slicer...

Opinions?

My Cuisinart has been my main tool and still only used mandolin I believe once. My Cuisinart does so many things with addl. blade purchase. I can't answer your question from my limited use for mandolin. Love Cuisinart FP.

Yeah I love my FP too.. It's not even a nice Cuisinart one, but the same (cheap) one I have had for about 15 years. If it ever dies, I will get a Cuisinart.

So.. I am on the fence about returning the mandoline.. I think I would just automatically grab the FP to use instead..

(will prob return it)

My spirolli is a blessing too for making my pasta strands. Wow 15 years is great use. What kind? I'm hunting down thrift stores for a FP for TX daughter so that I would have one when there as well.

I could see taking the mandolin with me on a flight, but then again with a blade they probably would search my luggage each time.

My FP is a Black and Decker Power Pro Plus. It's great!
