Colored Dots and Pluses

OK I have been told that I'm slow, just saying that up front. Just noticed that the dots after peoples names are different colors - red, green, or blue. Also in the Curently Active Users area there are pluses after some names. What do the colored dots and pluses mean?

I mean, I like my green dot and all but what's it for?

When a member is logged on in the forum, their dot glows green.

Heck, I don't even know where the "Currently Active Users" area is. lol

The Plus sign after a name means you have added that person as a buddy.

Currently active users is way down at the bottom under whats going on....it tells you who is on the forum.

fairy lass~ you can only see them after a persons name under the currently active users list. Try there and see. ;)

RawTruth, don't see any red dots now.

You might go to user cp and edit options, at the top is use invisible mode. If that box is checked and you would have to go to the bottom and save changes, then your dot would be red when you were logged in, at least that is what I think it is.

Do you know about the instant messaging? I understand private messaging but not instant messaging. There is a column on the expanded currently active users box.

There is a column on the expanded currently active users box.I think that IMing was planned when this site was built but it didn't end up being available. Even though I think this is a superbly-designed site, there are a few tiny glitches like the IM ... and the dang time (which never seems to be correct for me here on the west coast even though my preferences say Pacific Standard Time ... it's not just the hour that's inaccurate, though; it's also the minutes!!! Gives me a laugh cuz I just figure we're in a twilight zone when we're on here!)

Don't remember where that was "report bad post." Would like to know. There have been times I saw some and watched to see how quick they were removed. Had it taken long I'd probably have PM'd or e-mailed SweetG or Rawkie, whichever had posted last. Anyhow, would like to know the proper procedure.

Glad you brought up the plus signs! LOL I had added people to my buddy list, but could never figure out why after only certain people's names were plus signs.
Months later I now get it!
Thanks for the eye opening thread! I think I knew about the colored dots from someone else posting a question about it.
