I must have a love for Mandolins as I have THREE here and surely don't need three or maybe even one. I believe all new or one maybe I used one time, but think not. Still new condition regardless. My Cuisinart I love and use often. 11 CUP and think I bought extra blades way back.

I need help parting with one or two of them ASAP. Today I have to bring back the Vidalia or keep it so the rush is on when I floundered all along.

So here's where I need your help to decide on one for ME or none for ME. I figured if I go to visit my daughter 1-2 yearly and give her one I will have one toy there as she doesn't have a Cuisinart. She probably would not get much use out of as her knife would be her friend.

**7 in 1 mandolin Slicer / Grater by Norpro, chips, sliccing 1 for lemons, etc. slicing II, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, slicing III, slices ham, roast beef, and things I don't eat, shredding: onions, grates cheeses, minces garlic, shaves chocolate and dried bread...not much use from this blade, create garnishing from radishes, carrots, cabbage, etc...looks like thin strips and lastly blade for grating: potatoes, carrrots, onions.

**Made in Germany, GSD, The original European Grater Mandolin Slicer, Slicer, Grater, Chopper--3 blades, 1, 2, 4 mm thicknesses, grater inserts for chopping and slicing.

**As Seen on TV Vidalia Slice Wizard, with Free insert storage rack, 5 blames: thick slice, thick julienne, ultra thin slice, think julienne, thin slice

Truthfully, they are all looking the same at this moment. Please help me see the light and value to which one is the winner for me to keep. They are all in their original boxes too.

So that's end of my collection. I just saw each online too and vary in prices from about $24-$30 depending on kind.

Cna you please help me decide which would be most suitable and secondly if I need to keep my Vidalia, that slices, dices, minces, chops and juliennes with that storage rack and slicer stand with rubber feet too.

I can part with 2. I can probably travel with one to TX and give to daughter. I just don't see myself using 3 and probably never ever used one.

So, now I may have 2 for sale as well or one for sale after I give one to daughter.

Last thought: Get rid of all 3 and get a good one? Which one then? Again, today I must decide about that Vidalia which I can get refund for.

When is enough enough? Must return or keep today so probably checking messages at library after Turbo Kickboxing this early AM. Hopping into shower now.

THANKS.

Mine is a Benriner...made in Japan and I think my husband got it at an Asian market for me. Mine has three different blades to do three different sizes of Julienne slicing and then it can do just the regular slice (like what you'd use for a potatoe chip) anyway, that's all I've ever needed. I would definately go for quality....mine is a sturdy one and I've had it for at least 10 or more years...now that I think of it, I've never even had to have it sharpened. Good Luck!

Thanks for feedback. I ended up returning the "new" one just bought, had to keep the two other new ones since their return policy expired. Also ended up with this cutest gadget. Remember the spirolli that makes those long pasta strands that are kind of thick that drop onto your plate? Well, I found one that is similar but has a million more pieces to it. I couldn't believe this even came with instructions. Who else would want this but me and I couldn't believe it was there. Now I need to find out what it is called and will start a new thread.

WOW.. I just started another thread about mandolines without seeing this one. Maybe I should give my new one more of a chance... It's a Cuisinart, btw..

Got 2 mandolines and glad I was able to return the other one.

Now I have a Christmas candle lamp ready for return too. I'm getting better at buying and "returning" plus having to deal with this one crazy hoader at thrift store who believes she owns every item hitting the floor before the shelves to sell in her local self run mall store--not manned saying but money taken by the attendant to pay the vendor on during month. She tries to make you feel she is in charge just being in sight or near her, but soon I am going to complain to store manager so they make her aware she does not need to intimidate other customers who are also buyers with her behaviors. She's elderly lady, not that I care about age, but description here, heavy set, who probably would have a face crack up if she ever smiled with that dark RED lipstick.

She never smiles either and so intent her energy is almost enough to knock you over. Thank God for eating healthy I stand tall and "strong."

Hang in there my dear.. Show her that you will stand your ground. Don't allow her to get all the good bargains. Stand tall and strong you have nature on your side.

Marco,
Last night I was at thrift store for a few minutes after turbo class. Of course past her bedtime. I spoke to two of the ladies working there. They have had numerous complaints about the "witch." She even had her son come in and try to fight with a customer. Imagine that. They suggested I call the store manager or asst. I'm going to do that in next day or two. They can't stop her shopping there, but they can stop her being a hog and threat to others who are willing to pay for items as well. Store keeps bringing out carts of stiff all day I am told. She hangs for hours and hours before leaving with her daily hoard of bargain basement prices. It's amazing what people part with.

I found a NEW skirt, she's not into clothing, but cups/plates and like, $98 tag on Talbots skirt which you may not know of, for $3.99. I was thinking sell, but not a hot ticket at ebay and a little too small for me still at size 6 that looks like a 4. Still a bargain and this is the type of bargains people part with.

Thanks Marco for cheering me on to "fight and stand tall" not giving into the schemes of the "wicked."
