ARGH! I thought my almonds were safe once I moved to Europe....

So I figured that once I moved back to Ireland the almonds I got from the health food shop would be really raw and I wouldnt have to worry about it anymore.... But guess where the natural foods wholesale distributor that distributes to all the health shops now sources their almonds from? THE USA. Im pretty sure they used to be sourced from Europe when I lived here before. but no longer. ARGH.

I saw a lot of almonds from the USA in my local HFS too. I didn't buy them. But the ones from Spain and Hungary both grossed me out and tasted stale. I have only been happy with shelling my own almonds. They're not quite in season yet, though... so I have to wait another couple weeks to get my fix.
