View Full Version : green smoothie lovers! what benefits have you experienced?

This is a question for anyone who drinks a lot of green smoothies or drinks them daily: what benefits have you experienced since making this simple change? I just started drinking them and I'm in love. They are really helping my cravings and constipation issues but I feel like there are going to be so many other great benefits if I start drinking them like crazy (which is what i want to do because im actually "craving" them!). Its awesome to crave something so healthy!

the benefits? First Very easy to digest almost like melons. Since i am eating more greens i think i increased my strength about 50%. I did some training but it wasnt regular all the time. It cant be the training allone. I am doing know 41 1/2 arm pushups, my record was 46 after 1 year very intensive tae kwon doe training(i trained 6 days a week at the end, its very long ago). And i started training not regulary less than 2 month ago, i did a maximum of 25 armpushups. In this 2 months i did less fruit and very mineral rich greens like linden leafes, nettels and spinach. And more 2/3 of the time also all kinds of fast food, only less than 1/3 raw but big amounts of dark green leafes. My traing was average 2-3 times a week. One week once, one week 4 times^^, no regular plan or sth like that. Just tree climbing mostly.
Our ancestors the chimps maybe get many of their strength out of green leafes(20% of the chimp diet are leafes)
For sure the body doesnt function 100% when there s a mineral deficiency. And thats normal if u re not eating enough green vegetables. I recommend to put in your fruit smoothies if u dont like to eat it as it is. Or do cold pressed raw oil, avocado or sth like that on it. I am doing that most of the time. When i am on a hike i climb on a linden tree, grab some soft leafes and chew:)
3 months ago i saw a video on youtube "barefoot tree climbing" and i started
to try it also. I found it fascinating that they climb up small trees like a big row. First i tried i couldnt climb 2 meters and stay on more than a few seconds. Know i climb 4-5 meters high, stay there hang around climb down and do it couple of times more. Straight up. It feels nice to be that strong again. I can also do more than 2 meters without using the legs. I love tree climbing. But its very dangerous when you panic. Dont panic its organic!^^

HUGE eliminations and always feeling "squeaky clean". Energy! Vibrance! Improved skin. Hmmmm... I think that's "it"... I cannot WAIT to get to my mom's place in FL. She has a Vita-Mix and a great organic food store close to her. We're going to rock the house with lots of green smoothies. Three days and counting!
I LOVE green soups that are basically savory green smoothies, and I like to add crunchy veggies too. Yum yum!
I just feel so Alive after drinking one, and when drinking them regularly. I like the "in love" analogy! :p

my hubby got his diabetes totally under control. we both released a huge amount of weight.
and my poos were soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy and healthy!!!

I find that I get a really deep sleep when I have green smoothies daily.
Yesterday, I invited about 8 of my (S.A.D.) family members to a 1 week green smoothie challenge and got 1 "okay," 1 "I'll do ever other day" and 1 "maybe" so far. I think it would help to share "green smoothie testimonies" with them. I luv 'em!

For me, if I have a green smoothie in the morning, I feel great all day. If I don't, I get hungrier, often have weird cravings, and just generally feel out of sorts. It's gotten to the point that I make myself make one even if I don't feel particularly hungry at that moment, just to make sure I get one in.
Ideally I will have a chocolate-cherry superfood green smoothie in the morning and big savory green smoothie in the afternoon. For me, this is a recipe for feeling FABULOUS.

Here are some BENEFITS I've seen this week:
* I have just completed my 1st full week, and I have lost 4 pounds! I have been having Alissa's meals in between smoothies, so I'm not just doing smoothies alone. I probably would have lost more weight if I had been exercising more, but with working nights it's a challenge...
* I feel SOOOOOO much better!
* I don't feel as anxious this week and I don't feel like food is dominating me mentally.
* When I fell off of the RAW wagon, it seemed like all I thought about was food! I was barely finished eating one meal before I was thinking about the next! Anxiety overwhelmed me constantly! I don't feel that way this week, though.
* I feel like I can breathe!!! :D
* I don't feel constipated all the time! :o
* I've lost SEVERAL inches off of my waist!
* I know that as I continue to drink them every day, I WILL lose more weight...and that is EXCITING!
I look forward to having my Smoothie every day! I know that I am getting what my body needs and that's a terrific feeling! :) So far, my favorite on the list is #2 with the Mint. I hope that you find them as satisfying as I do!!!

They supercharge me with energy
Help me stay regular
Fill me up so I am not craving junk
I can sneak greens in that my family would never eat cooked or raw and they do not even know it
Makes me GLOW!
I have atleast one a day if not more - I could never grow tired of a good greensmoothie
