How do you get good fats/protein in?

I am losing weight, but everyone is on ly case because i eat a lot of salads, and love mushrooms, and have puchased Green Mountain Garlic Salsa (orgain) and Dessert Pepper (organic) and drinking water, and what not.

I am losing BUT am really not eating fats or protein, other than what the veggies are suppling...any suggestions.

All the raw crackers and granola I find are high in fat, and nuts are binding and i feel weighed down.

Please advise.

Do you want to lose weight? Do you feel good?
If the answers are yes, then I'd say whatever you're doing is working for you.
If you feel that you need more fats, but want lighter versions, I'd stick with seeds rather than lots of nuts. I love sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, or pumpkin seeds on my salads. I usually sprout my seeds, but not always. Sometimes I like them crunchy.Hemp nuts are also good and are packed with protein. Chia seeds are also good for protein. I generally don't worry about protein as all foods contain amino acids and not getting enough is rare. You could also eat a small spoon of coconut oil each day for medium chain fatty acids. I find it yummy and it is super good for you. There are oil blends that are usually sold in the refrigerated sections of health food stores. Udo's blend is popular. You can add a teaspoon to your salads or smoothies. And there is the wonderful avocado for delicious, good fats. Do what makes you feel good!! :)

You must make sure that you are getting essential fatty acids because your body can not make them.
Best are flax seeds, hemp seeds and chia seeds.

Avocados are my choice for fats. They digest so well in my body. Nuts can feel very heavy in me too, but I do fine with almond or cashew milk in shakes or by themselves. I get a caramelized nut mix from Good Stuff by Mom & Me that my body handles just fine. Just listen to your body.

Your veggies can give you lots of protien too.

flax seeds With olive oil! flax doesn't have the right balance of omega 3's and 6's on it's own, i'm pretty sure that chia doesn't either. only hemp is perfectly balanced.

when in doubt a free online nutrition tracker like fitday.com is a good way to see where you may be consistantly missing something. seeing how to balance the diet is very helpful especially in the beginning while you are just getting to know what works for you.

but the best way to gain healthy weight is to work out and put on muscle mass. this is excellent for your internal organs, your lymphatic system, respiratory system, blood flow, brain and mood as well as stoking your digestive fire so that food is utilized as well as possible. you may need to adjust your caloric intake accordingly but just eat when you are hungry and stop when you're satisfied (before you feel stuffed full), that is the best measure in my opinion.

if you find that you are losing weight dramatically you can always slow down your transition by adding some healthy cooked foods back in. it's not great for your health to lose weight too quickly and it is not always healthy or wise to jump in feet first, especially if you are feeling or looking unwell. taking it slowly is a great way to learn how to incorporate new things into your life gently and thoroughly, it's less stressful and has a better chance of becoming routine and sticking for the long run too.

Simply put: Protein does not beget protein. Amino acids beget protein.

When was the last time you saw a beautiful, muscular 800# horse sit down to a steak dinner?

As for fats, I simply have olive oil and fresh lime juice on a salad or I stir in a tsp of coconut oil into some herbal tea.
