i understand that it is best to be more alkaline than acidic, but i get a bit confused when i look up some of this stuff online. most food charts show almost all fruit as being alkaline in the body. however, fruits like lemons, apples, pineapple, grapefruit, grapes, etc. are acidic to the teeth....so, they basically just work differently in different parts of the body?

anyone have a list of fruits that aren't as acidic to our teeth?? i feel like i mostly eat fruit that is acidic to my teeth...everyday i usually eat apples, pineapples, grapefruit, etc....i'm trying to add more bananas and mangoes though. reasonably priced fruits are hard to come by in spain....

The ph of any food is based on what the ph of the ash would be if you burned it. That is why fruits that you may think of as acid are classed as alkili when they are eaten.
I think that all fruit are classed as bad for your teeth (because of the sugar levels) so they recommend that you rinse your mouth out with water (you can swallow it) a short while after eating it to reduce the risk. I do not think that it is a good idea to avoid a food because of your teeth as it leads to you limiting your diet. It is better to take steps to reduce the damage.
