i've been reading a lot lately on drinking water...some saying that distilled water is very good (removing minerals and other crap) and others saying that distilled water is bad (acidity of it).

i'm living in madrid until june of next year and was here last year and mainly have been drinking the tap water which they say is safe. i bought some water yesterday from the store--thinking it was distilled--and it turned out to be mineral water. the mineral water tastes pretty bad and i haven't been able to easily find bottled water that is distilled or spring water. so...needless to say, i've been drinking the tap water (which tastes a whole lot better than most of the bottled mineral water).

what do you think?? what kind of water would/do you drink? at home in the states i use a pur water filter system....can't really do that here.......

I spend the equivalent of about 25 cents/liter to fill up my water bottles with reverse osmosis water at the local health food store. I can't describe it well -- but when I made the switch from tap water to this, I felt cleaner. LOL, I'm already pretty "clean" from the GS, oil pulling, eating all raw -- but it was like one more step but without the detox.

And it tastes so sweet and pure at the same time.

Do you have health food stores around you that might have the same??

P.S. Fui a España hace cuatro años solamente para estudiar español (y divertirse;)). Qué suerte! ¿Y tu? ¿Estudias ahora?

Reversa Osmosis is not good for the envoirnment. It takes a bout 5 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon of drinking water and the rest is just flushed away.
I was drinking distilled water and for some unexplainable reason about 4 or 6 months ago my body just told me that it did not want it anymore. I now use a simple brita jug filter and add a sprinkle on MSM to the glass.
I do not know what is best and my mind became blitzed trying to find out so I just went with my feelings.
P.S. When I was distilling, I was adding some wheatgrains to it (to remineralise) and then placing it on a special magnet on the window in the sunshine to reenergise and I felt that I was doing all that I could to get the best possible water but my body eventually just said no.
I think that each will have to decide for themselvs as there does not seem to be such a thing as an expert openion on this.

I didn't read the same information but something similar. I weighed on this dilemma, but I don't feel comfortable drinking out of the tap. It doesn't taste right and doesn't quench my thirst quite the same way. In my situation, this is better for me and the environment than buying a plastic bottle of mineral water twice a day.

Just my thoughts. At least gs4life will be in Spain more than a few months and could make whatever call if it works best for her (him?)... :)

I'm on a private (shared) well, which nevertheless has chlorine added, because of minor contamination issues (prairie land, lots of cows). I run the water through a Brita filter (should also be available in Spain, since I believe it originally comes from Germany) for use when I boil it anyway (tea, etc). I will drink it when I don't have any other water available and am ok with it. I normally distill my drinking water at home, but add Concentrated Mineral Drops to it once it's done. I would have a reverse osmosis filter, but it's too complicated for me to put in myself, besides I don't have the money to buy one.:D I know it wastes water, but it goes back into the soil in my case (have a septic system with a mount), which means it will eventually be taken up again. Even water that goes in the sewer system will eventually end up back in the natural water cycle, so I don't think the environmental argument is very valid. I am concerned about the electricity my distiller uses, but everything has a trade off somewhere.:(

I eat lots of fresh raw fruit which provides natures purest water. I can honestly say I rarely get thirsty. I do sometimes have a glass of distilled water first thing in the morning to help flush the intestines.
