Flax seed has a season?

I went to WF today (been a while) and went to the bulk section looking for Golden Flax seed. I like it much more so than the regular. Anyway, they said its out of season... :confused:

If regular flax is in season, why not the blonde stuff?

Flax seed can be stored for a long period so even though there may be a season as far as growing it is concerned there should not be a season for selling it.
