I have had green smoothies almost everyday for almost three years. I love 'em and plan to drink them forever. About 99% of the time, my green smoothies have been "sweet" recipes. I would like to make some savory smoothies. Whenever I look for savory smoothies, garlic and onion are common ingredients. I would love to have some savory smoothie recipes with no garlic nor onion in them.
Does anyone have any recipes that have a savory taste without onion and garlic as ingredients? Thanks.

Tomatoes and celery are both fairly high in sodium, so you can get the savory taste without putting salt in them. I would take just about any recipe and just leave the onion and garlic out of it. Just think back to marinara sauce. Lots of people make it without those two things and it still tastes good.:D
baby spinach or kale
lots of cilantro
lots of parsley
couple of carrots
whole stalk celery
cucumber(optional)
tomatoes
This mixture tastes like a soup to me. You can add an avocado too. The cilantro and parsley makes for a great flavor. I dont really measure things I just taste until its right. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the ideas.
I did figure a recipe with tomatoes, celery, cilantro, and some greens, etc. would be a good start. The thing is I do not know what the "etc" is. :) I do not have a lot of experience with just "throwing together" stuff. Hence, I needed more guidance.
These are some great starter ideas. Thanks again.
If anyone has other ideas, then let me know. :)

I do some of those basic combinations with carrot juice and avocado plus fresh herbs that are just great.
