View Full Version : Trouble getting high blood pressure under control

I have been fighting high blood pressure for over 40 years! It first came on a few weeks after I had been hospitalized for a stress related problem. Anyway, the doctor said if I had high blood pressure at least that could be easily treated with meds! So, I guess my body complied. I had been on BP meds since then except for a few years when I saw my naturopath and used something natural until I had a massive stoke which was stress-related in June 2007.
My husband insists that he was incompetent and won't take me in to see him any more. So, now I am trying everything I can to help. He took me in to see my former doctor a couple weeks ago and she immediately put me back on meds!
I have used Resperate and my breathing rate has always been around 10-12 breaths per minute. It did not do anything to decrease my blood pressure. The only thing that I have found that seems to make any difference are the Holysync CD's. I am currently taking Hawthorn, garlic, and valarian root capsules in addition to the Diovan tablets (highest dosage) and my blood pressure did come down but then the past few days my blood pressure is right back up where it was a before I was taking any of those things.
I am to the point of almost giving up! I know that pharmaceuticals are really harmful to the body which is probably why it isn't working for me. For a few days in a row my blood pressure was normal and then it went really high again! And, deep down I think I really believe that the medicines are beneficial so I am having a real conflict with myself between what I know is good and what my mind seems to have believed and is hoding onto for dear life!
I have also used EFT (emotional freedom techniques) and that hasn't helped me either for that but has been helpful for many other things.
Sorry if his sounds like a big whine, but I really need and want to get this blood pressure finally under control.

If you live or have lived in a stressful environment that you cannot control, that will reak havoc on your BP. When you can get out of that stressful situation and you still have high BP, just give it some time and eat only raw foods. Raw foods are so healing. And loose excess weight, if you have any and that will come off naturally eating all raw.
Do you have time during your day to just rest and be at peace? Make a concerted effort daily to meditate for 15 minutes three times a day to calm your mind/body sync.
Also, remember to stay hydrated.
I hope you feel better

Are you eating raw at this point? Avoiding salt? Avoiding animal products?
Have you tried fasting?
I'm not sure what you should do, but I wish you all the best with this difficult challenge. Perhaps if it is possible, you might consider going to a healing place like the Hippocrates Health Institute or Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center.
Take care of yourself!!!

I forgot to mention that I have been almost totally raw for over a year and that has also not made any difference.
I have bought many books trying to learn meditation and using other modalities for relaxation and so far nothing has made any difference! I am certain that some of the stress I have had has come from the stroke and not being able to walk! My pulse is usually in the 70's and lower. So, my pulse rate and breathing rates are both perfect! It is just the blood pressure that is causing all the problems.
Thanks for your reply. It is nice to know that someone else is aware of my problem.

Firstly, it's important to realize blood pressure drugs, even when they lower your blood pressure on tests, INCREASE heart attack rates by 60%, so you should try to get off that snake oil before it's too late, the reason is that they artificially lower pressure and lowering it artificially will increase death risk dramatically (heart attack rates are up 300% since poeple are put on those snake oil pills).
You should also only avoid refined salt, but make sure to get sea salt which is essential for a good blood pressure, and realize that most sea salts sold are refined even if they came from the sea, so get Celtic sea salt or Himalayan salt.
Also critical is to drink 2 liters of water per day, without that you could be doing everything else right and will probably never get a normal pressure, water is a major regulator of pressure in the body.
It's also important to realize the blood pressure recommendations here are fraudulently low (just like cholesterol recommendations) specifically to sell as many drugs as possible. In less corrupt countries the recommended pressure is 160, not 120 like it is here.
Finally, try eating natural raw garlic rather than pills that way you get all the benefits, and both www.naturalnews.com and www.mercola.com will have great info on reducing blood pressure.

I worked for my naturopath for a couple of years and he treated high blood pressure with garlic and vitamin C. My son is taking that and it works for him. He takes 650 mg garlic and 1000 mg vitamin C per day.
Also, I'm concerned about your husband telling you what you should or shouldn't do. I hope you insist that he take you to whom ever you feel comfortable with and who can help you. It's your LIFE we are talking about.

Somettimes, God uses our husbands to protect us. And, in this case, after seeing that Dr. of her choosing and then having a stroke, her husband told her he was basically a quack. How do you KNOW for certain he is not right??:D
I do believe that some calm in needed. Calm and peace in your life. Is that possible, do you think?? Just to sit and be still....not trying to remember how to do it, just sit and be still....not trying to remember a mantra or a special yoga pose, ect. You get my drift....
Health to you.

Wow that's interesting. Do you have any links to documents about that? I've been getting concerned because last time I had BP taken I was around 135 which is supposed to be "pre high blood pressure" since doctors in the US consider 140+ as high. Of course I'm still trying to get going on eating right and I'm not really excercising much so I know that whatever mine is at I can lower it but if it's not really all that bad after all then who knows. Interestingly, with that BP level, my new dentist the other day said I should get checked for high BP, but I had a similar level when I went for a physical and when I asked the nurse how it was she said it was fine
