I wrote an article! Now what??

I wrote an article about my whys for going raw and just a basic intro to raw foods, etc, and I'd love to have it published, but who would publish something (locally) like this?
For those who've done something similar, where did you go? I don't think the newspaper would do it. I have checked with the health food store. Any other ideas? THanks a million!

It is very hard to get articles published. What you need is a book called The Writer's Market. Most book stores carry it. Look for the 2009 edition. It is probably out by now or soon will be. Look for the version that has magazines and newspapers listed. It will tell you how you need to type it up, how, where and when to submit and what (if anything) they will pay.
