I have a sore throat, sinus congestion and achy neck.

So.. do you think it's detox or really a cold? (I totally screwed up eating cooked food on my vacation last week, including coffee and alcohol!)

So...I am thinking that it's prob detox. I have been 100% raw since Sunday and 4 pounds have come off so far. But, I am not feeling that great, starting last night.

Suggestions for soothing a sore throat would be helpful too.

I think you may have a cold, but this is good for your body will cleanse up even more toxin out of you. May i suggest to listen to your body, sleep, take fresh orange juice, etc...

One thing that had always helped me was raw garlic. Don't chew it, but swallow the garlic (shopped into very small piece ) and drink water in the same time, you can add a little bit of fresh lemon juice.

Stay away from sweetner or concentrate sugar, etc...

Hope you feel better soon!

Maybe if back to rawfoods your body is discharging/detoxing too the cooked foods, and other goodies you enjoyed. Who knows--could be cold or bug going around as well. Maybe try sticking some cayenne in socks to warm up. No kidding. Have heard others loving this. Feell better.

I do eat occasionally a pinch of cooked vegan foods and never get sick, but each body works just a little bit differently. Many times totally raw, but my way works for me and could be 100% all year round if I wanted to.

Feel WELL quickly!

Sore throat: may look to warm water with some honey...or maybe lemon and honey drink....I know honey is very soothing....

Thanks! I will try the garlic.. And yeah.. I actually think I have a cold. I haven't had a cold in a long time (many years) so this is a bit strange for me! Well.. yeah I will try garlic, and have OJ.

I am off tomorrow so will take it easy..

I drink hot water with lemon juice in it when I'm cold/flu-ish. Usually, I don't sweeten it, but if I do, I prefer agave to honey. Boil some water, mix it half and half with room temp water, then squeeze in half a large or one small lemon (so it doesn't overheat). Rinse your mouth with plain water when you finish a cup, so the acid doesn't stay on your teeth!

I also like Cold-Eze zinc lozenges, but there is nothing raw about them!
