View Full Version : what causes very painful headaches?

I don't even know if this is the right word-but last night I had what felt like a ROCK at the base of my skull more on the right side. I was so painful that I began to get nauseous and thought I was going to be sick. Dh tried to rub it out, but nothing worked. Today it still hurts, but isn't as intense.

Besides dehydration (which couldn't have been the cause yesterday...) what else could cause this?

It's hard to "diagnose" that. Trust me. I had migraines for 50 some years prior to going raw.

Lots of questions to be answered. Are you 100% raw? Do you use a lot of dehydrated foods? Do you drink enough water (often confused with a migraine are dehydration headaches)?

Could it be you are detoxing?

lots of water (2-3 quarts/day, plus juicing/smoothie/herbal sun teas), 100%, hardly any dehydrated foods. What causes the muscles to ball up?

Sounds like you could be holding in some tension or frustration -- maybe even way deep down. Just an idea. Could be one of many things, or a mix.

Have you been getting exercise daily that makes you puff and sweat?

Are we talking close to the neck area as well? I'm thinking chiropractor for adjustment.

If your neck is out of wack chiropractor can adjust. This is my first thought since you don't do dairy, chocolate, coffee as big time culprits for headaches.

Feel great and keep us posted.

May try showers: hot/cold a few times on the neck area.

Vegan,
Wow, now freedom after 50 years! So the answer was not drugs, but raw. How exciting to add this to the list of benefits of raw.

Sending you healing thoughts,

Do you have dental fillings? (amalgam)

Some people claim that if you have multiple types of metal in tooth fillings, they will create an electromagnetic field when mixed with saliva.
