I started doing Oil Pulling using organic, unfiltered traditionally pressed sesame oil... and I really like it, but my question is this... when I spit it out after 20 minutes, it's cloudy and lighter, but still a little yellow. Is it supposed to be like that? Could I be doing something wrong?

I don't see how you could be doing it wrong. I use org unf sesame oil too but mine's always cloudy. Maybe more an issue with the freshness of the oil rather than something you're doing?
Mine does not usually turn white unless I am under a LOT of stress and eating huge amounts of nuts, have stopped oil pulling for more than a few days, or have recently eaten non-raw food. Very strange. I have recently been speculating about it possibly affect the pH levels, but I'm not sure if I can figure out at the moment if that is true.

I am not familiar with this. Could someone please tell me about it?
I wrote a blog post about this a few months ago. It's here http://readysethealthy.blogspot.com/2008/06/oil-pulling-how-and-why.html with lots of info and a really cheesy pic of me oil pulling in the morning. I can't believe I haven't removed that yet. Haha. :p

Thanks Eva. Read your blog. Good info. I may try it.

You're very welcome, and I'm glad it was good info. There's a big thread floating around the board somewhere where lots of people posted their experiences. :)

I have done it a few days over the last two weeks. Having trouble buying into the theory that it pulls toxins from your body. Googled it and came up with a lot of interesting info. This article explains it in a way that I can relate to and believe in.

i began oil pulling about a month ago and since then my teeth have become whiter and i believe my bottom teeth have started to straighten out a bit. i definitely think the oil pulling is pulling out toxins...it has helped keep my face clear!

I can not find sesame or sunflower oil cold pressed any where and im unable to order on line. Do you know if this is possible with olive/hemp/flax/or coconut oil? Those are all i can find.
Have you tried a HFS? I'm so surprised at that! Sometimes it will say expeller pressed on the label. You basically just don't want the roasted kind. If you are not able to do so, I have heard of people having success with other oils, but I have found the most success with sesame oil in my experience.
I've had gum disease since HS. Since oil-pulling, my gums don't bleed as much or at all most of the time. So I think it's helping with that. :)
My teeth are whiter, too, but I'm not sure if it's because I brush after every meal with BS & Hydrogen peroxide or the oil pulling. hm. I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and it's usually still yellow when I spit it out.

Heatlh Food Store.
Update: I've been doing it with Sunflower seed oil for 4 days now. Following the procedure explained on earthclinic website. I could swear my teeth are looking whiter and less transparent. I have one tooth that suffers from bone loss around the root. It hasn't been bothering me for 4 days. Also, I'm used to getting little whiteheads on my nose or chin almost everyday. Not for the past 4 days.
I have been on a raw diet for 4 months now. Have also changed my skincare and toothcare products. I'm sure that has helped with all these issues. The jury is still out on the oil pulling, but I'm definitely going to keep doing it and look for further improvements.
