As I sit here and eat my yummie salad, I'm amazed at how sweet raw corn on the cob is. I removed the kernels from the cob and put it in my salad with avocado and romaine. Simple, yet so good. Still amazed as I never knew you could eat corn raw and also amazed at the flavor I was missing with it cooked!

I love raw corn directly off the cob and not in any salads, but nice in salads too. Simple to me works best.

Things that I love smeared on raw corn:
It is also delicious plain. If you can get raw, local, organic, non-GMO corn, enjoy it! My adventures in raw corn eating have been few and far betwee, due to GMO/pesticide concerns. However, I can say that all the raw corn that I've eaten has been utterly decadent and fabulous. Eat up!

Sounds yummy. Maybe I'll try some Friday when I go to the farmers market or the lil organic stand down the street.

I was never fond of cooked corn. I could eat a small spoonful or eat some mixed into something but I hated it on the cob (sticks in the teeth) and especially hated it with butter on it. Alas, it was my brother's favorite vegetable (I know... I know... It's a grain, but in our cupboard of cans it was a vegetable), so I had to eat it far more than I wanted to.
I decided to try it raw in a salad and although it was okay, I prefer it just as it is. I cut it off the cob (daughter eats hers straight from the cob) and eat it just as is. Love the stuff!
Oddly, the rest of my family was not at all fond of the raw corn and simply would not eat it. My mom had a few bites and said it was okay but preferred it cooked. The rest of the family acted like I was nuts for eating it like that. Maybe it's an acquired taste?

....slathered with avacodo and sea salt - that sounds SOOO YUMMY!!!:D I have never had raw corn on the cob. Is it crunchy? I don't think I would really like crunchy corn. If you don't eat it crunchy how do you get it to a softer texture?

I've eaten raw corn on the cob for years. Probably close to thirty now!!!

My current favourite salad is an ear of raw corn cut off the cob, a chopped up avocado, a chopped up tomato, some fresh cilantro and a pinch of sea salt. Mmmmmmm.

My favorite place to eat corn.....right out in the middle of the corn patch...in my garden.

Ohhhhh I loooove corn.
Cut of the cernels of the stem, mix with one avokado like a mash with a bit of salt, soooo yummy, and for more filling on top of zuccini nudles.
Or cernels from one ear of corn blended with salt, peper and garlic on top of zuccini nudels, soooo nice. It gets a little "wet" but then it is a little like supe, but the taste is fantastic.
Or cernels from one ear of corn blended with half of a zuccini salt and peper, and maby garlic as a side dish to a nice salat, amasing :-))
That was a lot of zuccini too LOL well they are in season right now and taste fantastic ;-))
I had a lot of corn lately :)

I absolutely love raw sweet corn, and raw baby corns. They make salads so much more appetitizing and colorful!
