Like the new blog forum, but I'm still trying to figure it out. Some of the things I see on it may not be new, could be I just didn't notice them before.

Aside from the trouble opening my newest blog post up for comments I have questions...

Any reason I shouldn't go back and repaste in the picture links that were lost?

What is the blog category function do?

What is the difference between an avatar pic and a profile pic? As in where do they show up?

It says max avatar size is 80 X 80 pixels or 19.5KB, or whichever is smaller.
It say max profile size is 100 x 100 pixels or 64KB, or whichever is smaller.
I finally figured out do HP Photosmart resizing, but it's either
A. 352 x 480 pixels 52.9KB
B. 72 x 99 pixels 15.2KB
Is B the one I need to use for either the avator or the profile?

Is there a help function for any tech issues?

Probably all silly questions, but I'm feeling technically silly.

Thanks for your support.

There is a thread in the Forum Announcements and Assistant section that was started by Starfire but the Admin has been chiming in. Have a look!

But yeah, stuff like this should be posted in that section so I'm going to move it there for Admin to see.

You can go back and re-paste any links.

The avatar pic should show up on the top left corner of blog and forum posts. Profile pic shows up if you go into your profile (it could be the same pic).

B is good for profile, but you might need a smaller one for the avatar. It might resize it for you.

Since I'm on a learning curve here I'd like to address this issue that I don't get. Would like to save my blog just in case something happens in the future.

Any tips on how to do that? I have windows and micrcosoft Works; Works Word Processor, Office Word 2007.

If anyone can clue me in that would be extra-special. If not, I understand, will have to call the geek squad or something.

Thanks! :)

The only way for a user to backup their blog is by having a copy in Word (copy and paste).

The old blogs are not lost. If we are unable to restore them - we will provide instructions on how to access them, so the users that are effected can retrieve them. I wouldn't worry too much about this happening again - this was a major move from an outdated blog system that is no longer supported to a blog system that is supported by the makers of this forum.

It works great from both either of my word processing programs.
Had to select (highlight) the text then copy it using the menu bar, then used the right click mouse key to paste it in the blog. WONDERFUL!

I've got to tell you, for a blogger like me who is set in her ways and technically challenged, this has been quite the setback...BUT NO MORE. It's challenged me to look at the possibilities in a whole new way.

THIS IS GREAT! I'M LOVING IT!

Thanks for all your hard work.
