I am 100% Raw, and have been for 2 1/2 months! I am at a point where I am going CRAZY. I have diverticulitis, I cannot handle, corn, nuts or seeds AT ALL. Even flax seeds give me trouble sometimes. I have been trying and trying, eating them a little at a time, soaking them. I really just cannot have them. I am ok with that, because I am a full time nanny (70hrs + a week) for a child who is seriously allergic to nuts, and it makes things easier, I don't like putting her at risk.

My question is...

I am looking for that CRUNCH! not the fruit vegetable crunch, the nut crunch (closest to grains for me). I really love the pies in Alissa's book but cannot figure out a way to make a crust!, I dont want to only use dates, that is kind of boring. Any ideas?

I would imagine you can use raisins in place of dates or some other kind of dried fruits.

Hope this helps.

Oats. I don't know how crunchy you can get them, but you can get truly raw rolled oats from Alissa's store and/or oat groats from the HFS. Soak, blend, mix with the sweet fruit for your crust. I saw a cookie recipe that uses them somewhere....I don't have any specific ones myself, but this is on my to-try list.

Another crunchy idea is dehydrated kale chips, zucchini chips, or sweet potato chips. Recipes on this site or in Alissa's book.

Buckwheat! Sprouted then mixed with salt, spices, a touch of oil, dehydrated. Mmmmm.

Aw man, I was just thinking about this. I think that buckwheat is officially a seed, so it might be off your list. Sheesh! That's tough.
