I have been on 97% raw food for the last month and am doing really well the only problem I am having is the extreme gas. of course I eat alot of vegtables and fruit. I love seed cheese. It gets so bad that I reel like crawling up into a ball. One of my main uncook books is rawvolution. Does anyone know of a healthy herb or something I could add into my daily routine.

Papaya provides enzymes that may help.
Also, get up and move. Drink enough water. Watch food combining.
It'll (ahem) pass.
sorry, couldn't resist... ;)

Fermenting foods create gas. You are likely combining foods improperly and eating them in the wrong order. You may want to cut back on fruits or at least eat them early in the day and allow them to digest before consuming heavier foods.

I love Matt's book, but if you're using it solely a lot of his recipes do call for namu shoyu and other things that might be aggravating your digestive system. I personally cannot use shoyu at the moment as I'm healing my body because of the wheat. Perhaps try to keep it simple by juicing more, maybe mono eating for awhile and blending some of your meals just to experiment and see how you feel. To determine the cause. Or maybe cut the salt and shoyu in half in his recipes. I agree it's probably the food combining aspect or you're simply experiencing detox as your digestive system heals. Drink plenty of water and keep it simple with your raw food and stop eating the seed cheese for awhile is my recommendation. The nuts in the seed cheese might be causing the gas in combination with the shoyu. Later on when you're feeling less gassy...kombucha, raw sauerkraut or probiotics may help as well with your digestion. Just suggestions. Best wishes.

Alissa's book.
Try eating your fruits FIRST - as they take less time to digest and may be sitting on top of the other foods fermenting. Then eat heavier (i.e. nuts, seeds, etc) after. Experiment around.

I agree with veganforlife. There is a food combining chart in Alissa's book.

I get gas mainly when I eat something that I'm sensitive to (some people call it allergic). A few days ago, I made vegetable juice that contained potato. I had horrible gas with a lot of pain in the low abdomen. I didn't know what it was from until the next day, when I had more of the same juice. Same juice without potato does not do that to me. I've always had gas after eating cooked potatoes, too, unless I ate them with lots of butter or other fat (french fries didn't do it, because of all the oil, for example). So try to have meals with very few ingredients to figure out, what you might be sensitive to.
