I have many skin disorders. I suffer from from a combination of psoriasis, ezcema and contact dermatitis.
I went to Whole Foods to buy some skincare and cleaning with natural ingredients. So I remedied that problem by slowly making attempts to throw away a lot of things. However, I wonder if there are any fruits and veggies that help is known to help improve skin health concerning psoriasis, ezcema and dermatitis.
I don't mind if you suggest herbal supplements, but don't forget I am more concerned about produce.
Thank you.

Do a youtube search for David Wolfe on Calcium. Watch all 7 parts. It is a bit long (the video) but he discusses how to cure psoriasis and many other conditions. I know from experience that what he suggests really works :) . Plus you can listen to that long video whilst preparing raw food.
I'm wishing you all the best! My skin issues are just starting to resolve themselves now, and my skin is emerging better than ever.

Organic coconut oil is wonderful for addressing skin issues.
Also, Boiron has homeopathy solutions in a pellet form to address skin rashes/allergies.
I had an allergic reaction to something I ate (I think it was a bread product) and a dry rash appeared on my arm. Nothing made it go away for 2 weeks. I happened to see that Boiron had a solution for "skin rashes due to food allergies" and within 18 hours the rash was completely gone.
Both the coconut oil and Boiron can be found at Whole Foods.

Cucumbers are great for the skin. I experienced detoxification of my skin around my chin for a few weeks - little pimples. I drank cucumber juice every day and now my skin is glowing and clear once again.
Avocados are also good for the skin.
I use coconut oil as a moisturizer and tea tree oil as an astringent (when needed).
For challenging viral/fungal skin infections try using apple cider vinegar and grapefruit seed extract.

I forgot to mention - another excellent facial product is Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel. I swear by that stuff 2x day.

I have all of those skin problems. I take turmeric and that helps. I got a Canadian product online called Skin Fix and it seems to help sometimes. Otherwise I use something called Tri Derma. Also got it online.
As far as foods go, I haven't noticed anything that makes things better or worse.

Funny, yesterday i just read from a flyer of the Dr. Ann Wigmore institute that RED RADDISH is a beauty food. It helps with the skin because of the high content of silicon in it.
Best wishes!
SekhemNefer: I have felt your pain, but my skin is doing GREAT now. I had acne on my face, which got better but not perfect with raw, then I obsessed (OK, maybe not obsessed) with finding information about what I could do. I also had a very pronounced and itchy rash on my elbows for more than a year and had the itchies and broken skin on the back of my head. It was so frustrating.
I am convinced that the most effective solutions are from the inside out, but there are other remedies that help temporarily. Early this year, I had summarized a ton of info about good skin and just edited it and posted on my blog. I'd just copy and paste it here, but there is way too much formatting that would be lost. And I have to get back to my work!
My September 8 (Today!) Blog Entry: Tips for Good skin (http://readysethealthy.blogspot.com/)
I took the time to edit this with your question in mind, but I'm sure some others could benefit. :)
Have a great day, Éva

So Eva, what changed ur skin for u?
What did u do internally to help ur skin?
LOL thinking about what I did -- I did EVERYthing! And it's actually no big deal. You just make that stuff part of the way you live. Get exercise and sunshine, eat raw food, have cucumber juice some days and green smoothies most/all days. I oil pull most days, drink plenty of water.
If you look at all of the stuff I posted about, it seems like a lot -- but it's all easy stuff that just gets built into everyday life. It's not all necessary for some people, but it's all part of the puzzle if you have trouble with your skin.
And it takes time. And I believe that in many cases that it's almost necessary to do the things I suggested with a happy heart and without truly obsessing. To look at the mirror and be happy and happy knowing positive changes are occurring internally.

So how long to see the change EVA? sorry to bother with so many questions;)
When I went raw, it was within just a few days that MOST of my acne was gone. I wrote out the list on my blog around February of this year, and it's only in the last month or so that I have NO skin problems. I've been doing most of those things consistently, and nothing was immediate.
For me, I think stress was a big factor as the last step. Although I do sometimes have stress with my job, I have a lot of activities built in to relieve the stress.
Ah, I will say that I remember at one point having 3-5 juiced cucumbers per morning for several mornings was a really effective temporary fix, but I don't have a juicer now and can't do that all the time.
LOL, I hope that was helpful and not more confusing!

Rawstrength, it's funny you mention listening to David Wolfe on Calcium because I was going to suggest to SekhemNefer to look into trying Ocean Minerals Pure Magnesium Oil. A raw friend of mine says this has helped her psoriasis more than anything. And taking this magnesium helps balance calcium levels. I didn't know how balancing calcium would help psoriasis, so now I'll go watch David Wolfe's videos. Thank you!

So Eva, it took u about 7 months to have no skin issues?

Eva - do sunspots clear up on raw, or are we stuck with those? I CAN'T use Rx stuff, as my skin is way too sensitive for those kinds of chemicals anyway. My skin is otherwise good at age 61 - just a few wrinkles as it is a slightly oily but non-acneic type. But those sunspots don't look like cute freckles! I eat mostly raw now, get plenty of exercise, have ditched my poisonous skincare products(now I only use shea butter and extra-virgin coconut oil as my skin lotions and creams, and apple cider vinegar and bentonite as my exfoliating mask). I do use another homemade mask or two as well. Looking for an all-natural cleanser too - that's my last category I'd like to clean up.

cara4art - have you tried the coconut oil skin cleansing method?
http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/
I do it every night, and my face feels soft and smooth and never need moisturizer.
cara4art -- My acne scars have cleared up almost 100%, so I would say there is at least a good chance -- even though that's clearly not the same thing!
My husband used to do manual labor in the sun and ended up with some sun spots. I think they're cute, maybe because I'm totally in love with him... but maybe not. He was pretty sensitive about them, but they're almost gone over the least year and a half or so. He has not been working in the sun, has done the green smoothies and more raw food (he is NOT raw though, for sure). Nothing else different that I know of. I did notice the last time he went to Brazil that they resurfaced when he came back but faded away again.
It's early/late, so I don't know for sure if what I just wrote was mumbo jumbo or if it was helpful. That's a good sign to be off to bed.

So Eva, it took u about 7 months to have no skin issues?
Sorry I missed that the first time you asked! It was just a few days into raw that my skin was drastically better but not totally without ANY issues. I did plenty of things, but it was finally ALWAYS healthy/glowing/free of pimples when I started focusing on the whole picture -- after you got it, about 6-7 months. I didn't keep a skin diary or anything, LOL! But I think that's about right.
We all have skin problem for varying reasons, but I think that stress and elimination are the two biggest things to focus on. That's just me!

DW's Eating for Beauty has some info on that. I know cukes and burdock root (juiced with an apple) are good. My suggestion is to NOT WASH WITH SOAP THAT HAS TEA TREE IN IT!!! I went to WF and asked for an organic soap that was mild enough for my 2 10 yo to start using. They recommended Dessert Essence daily face wash w/ tea tree and awuphui (sp?).
I came home and tried it on my face-it burned and scarred my mouth and entire chin area-as if I didn't already have ENOUGH problems!!! I now have darkened skin (scars) on my face.
The one thing I have really liked is using the Oil cleansing Method. Did anyone mention that yet? Sorry if I am repeating, but it's very mild and does a great job (for me-each person's skin is *very* different!)
I have major scars all over my face-thanks to detox. sigh. I got cyst like bumps that were red and raised itchy AND painful and the size of a dime. They have finally gone away, but the scars are fierce.
OH GEEEEEEZ! How could I forget---
MSM!!!!!
More than ANYTHING that has made the greatest impact. I take 2 tablets a day (2000 mg, I think?)
If you do that I bet you will see major results in 24-72 hours. I have found that I have to continue to take it. Skipping it for more than 2 days is NOT good.
Best of Health to you my dear!

You probably are allergic to something in that soap. Scarring is not a normal reaction to products that have tiny amounts of tea tree oil in them. And the allergy may be to something other than the tea tree. It's not possible to say for sure what specific component caused it.
