Hi Helen!
I am just wondering where you purchase a majority of your food items? I live in Nashville, and am scouting out any way I could purchase raw, and even organic food, at a reasonable price.
Thanks so much!
Lauri

Lauri,
Helen is travelling for a few days, but will return on Sunday. I'm sure she'll answer your question.

Hi Lauri,
I buy most of my organic produce from Wild Oats. There are 2 in the Nashville area. One by Green Hills Mall and one by Cool Springs Gallaria Mall.
There are a few other places listed in the link below:

It's so good to see another person who eats raw or is striving to eat raw. I wish we could find some more from this area and start having a monthly or bi-weekly potluck get-together.

P.S. - Thanks Edda for letting Lauri know that I was out of town. Lauri - I was visiting family up in Michigan and I was able to meet Edda. She's a very sweet person. She is someone who gives me support and pushes me to stay on track. In fact I had my first collard greens/pear juice because of her!

Swish,
I'm in the 'Boro and another alternative is the Farmer's Market at the Factory in Franklin. There are several organic farmers there. Here are links to a couple of them. Ask them to put you on their email list and then you can order and meet them on Saturday's at the Factory to pick up your order.
ecorganics@hotmail.com (I'm forwarding their latest email to your email address)
doerunfarmtn@aol.com (I *think* this one is organic - just heard back from the and yes, they are organic.)
Rocky Glade Farm jjvaughn@juno.com (jjvaughn@juno.com) (They are not "certified" organic, which is what you HAVE to be now by USDA standards to call yourself organic...however, they do grow according to organic standards...they use natural fertilizers, no pesticides etc...)
Hope this helps.
Victoria;)

Might I also suggest one of the below..
1.You can begin your own organic farm using this site. The growers grow what you like, you can purchase ffrom the market (starting in Jan) ...it's quite interesting and works out way cheaper than Whole foods, and potentially can make you money
http://myorganicacres.com/index.php?id=5581
2. another suggestion would be joining the CSA at Delvin Farms or Eatons Creek. Both are certified organic farms and your monthy bill will be the cost of 1 week at Whole foods or Trader Joes.
Also I did find a yahoo group that meets in joelton, TN (25 or so miles North of Nashville) that has a meetup once a month. I've never been and just signed up to join the group. Next meeting is Jan 17.
Hope this helps a little
