First, i don't intent to quit raw food, i so love it and it did so much wonderful thing for me.

What i find very strange is that i started to have allergies last year and i am aging, one of my eye is sinking and i have so much more gray hair (it could be due that i nurse and i am 43 years old), i thought i was detoxing and this year this is the same so now i know this is allergies. I heard story from people who had hay fever and it has healed since going raw food. I never had allergies in my life and it started only since i am on this raw diet. I am wondering that if i was always allergic and just didn't feel it because i had too much mucus and now this is clearing. I am really puzzle about that, i wonder if any of you had the same thing.

I don't look younger, but I had many great miracle since on this diet such a better skin, more energy etc.... Maybe i had very toxic substance stored in me and it did that, or maybe because i am nursing or i am doing something wrong.

I am careful now with food combining and try to avoid choice that will give me gas. I read that this could be very toxic so i am careful, i did notice a change in me by doing this and giving more time to digest before the next meal.

I guess that i am very sensitive with food. Nut gives me pimple so i had to be careful with that too. I have been making effort to eat more legume and it seems to help too.

Any suggest of healing these allergies??? I think this is ragweed.

Thank you!

I am thinking of a woman I used to work with. She wore a ton of makeup. One day I saw her and she looked horrible. Her eyes were running and it caused all the eye makeup she had on to drip down her face. Her face looked puffy and red and I presumed she was crying.

I asked her what was wrong and she said it was allergies. She had been a smoker and had just quit smoking. The Dr. said the smoking gunked up her lungs so much that she didn't notice the allergies. But once she got all that out of her system, her body was no longer able to fend off the allergens.

It's possible something like that is happening with you.

Or you could have OAS, like I do. That's oral allergy syndrome. Your body mistakes the offending food for pollen and it reacts as though you came in contact with pollen. This can happen with many foods, but the most common are nuts, raw fruits and vegetables. For me it is pistachios and almonds.

knowing some details about your diet would be very helpful here.

i can make a suggestion that you enter your daily diet into a nutrition tracking program online like fitday.com. it's free and it will give you a break down of what nutrients you are getting in what quantities and that can show you if there is something that you are consistantly missing or low on. i think it's really tremendously important to take excellent care of yourself while you are nursing a small one because they will drain you of things that you need and you must make sure to replenish it all. in my opinion, essential fatty acids during pregnancy and nursing in Just The Right Balance (this is very important) are so vital for continuing good health. i take the maximum recommended dose as well as eating nuts and seeds and consuming some oils and other fats (avocados, coconut, olives).

how are you eating the nuts and do you get the same reaction from seeds as well? are you soaking them first? what if you only have a small portion once daily or every two days and/or rotate which of them you are having?
you are on the right track with proper food combining, it can be very helpful with good digestion and nutrient absorption. so can juicing (especially greens), all those concentrated vitamins and minerals are easily available to the body.

allergies can show up at any time during your life and sometimes they are brought on by continuous exposure or extreme sensitivity. an allergy is basically an over reaction by the immune system to something that it sees as a foreign invader. this isn't such a bad thing though, it shows that your immune system is up and running just fine but it is bothersome for sure. some people swear by bee pollen (though it is not technically vegan). it must be local, take it during early spring and continue at a low dose through summer and fall.
there have been some great successes with homeopathic rememdies for allergies as well but self-diagnosis is often a waste of your time and money. if you can consult a practicing homeopath you may get just the right advice and a simple and harmless remedy that, while most probably now raw, may relieve your symptoms and even address the underlying cause.

best of luck to you!

Julie, thank you. I was exposed 21 years intensively from second hand smoking. My mother was smooking none stop, i dated a smoker for near 4 years and worked in a public restaurant for 2 years. Then after, i was occasionally exposed to smoke for another 8 years. I have been second hand smoke free for 13 years now since my town became public smoke free. It make sense that i am cleansing from all those toxic exposures those years. When i first start running, my coach thought i had asma. I think also, that i may have leaky guts from all those years of chronic constipation. I am going to take therapeutic enzyme, i read that they can repair this condition.

Coco, i will explore your approach, thank you, i didn't know about that website. It makes perfect sense what you say. I also detoxed too fast last year, i ate what i wanted etc... but i got sick down the way and i also and a bad injuries on my shoulder. I lost 10 pound that week of my injuries and lost very quickly weight when i got sick. I didn't look good at all. I felt more energy then before, my skin problem clear out etc... so i know this is all good, but i think that i detoxed too fast or something is off. I was 146 lb and dropped to 104 within six months. I am back to 124-126lb, it fluctuates but it seems to be stable now. I am going to start to exercise to help my immune system. I really got beat up my first few months on raw, i am sad about my eye looking so weird compare to the other one but this is way better then last year.

I had so much gas, i am now ok since i am waiting to digest before next meal and i watch out with food combining more the fruits. The gas may have contribute to age etc...

They found anormally cells in my uterus while i was pregnant. They wanted to do a surgery on me and i didn't want too because i wanted to nurse my child and i knew within me that i would be ok. I want to get test again but i wanted to wait to be raw for a while to see what happened. I feel that i am ok now.

I was having chronic fatigue before raw food and i am not as nearly tired now. So much more energy and feeling so much better.

This is my diet now and it seems to be working better. I make more effort to eat legume and it seems to help a little.

Green smoothies everyday.
Raw bars occasionally and as a quick fix on my lunch.
Gourmet meal but it fresh i don't do much dehydration now.
I eat hemp seeds smoothies.
Whole food such red pepper, tomato, this summer i had whole blueberries, blackberries, strawberries as a lunch.
At night, i make often a heavy salad such avocado, onion, tomato, sprout and legume with a little vinagrette, or a pasta with tahini/miso base, or sauce made with pine nut/macadamian nuts.
Raw icecream.

What i want to do more now. I will make effort to have rejuvelac everyday to bring good bacteria in my gut.
I am going to try dr. Ann Wigmore green soup and most of all take therapeutic enzyme.

I wonder if i can do something about my eye, if there are some exercise. If i knew how to post a picture i would show you the difference from me before raw, last year on raw and this year.

Thank you again for your help!

i would take care with the rejuvelac or even try something else like a probiotic supplement or other fermented foods. the hippocrates health institute (which is where rejuvelac originated) doesn't use it anymore as testing showed that it often contains as much bad bacteria as good bacteria. it would be fine for those with strong digestion but not for someone dealing with health challenges.

you know, there are some facial exercises that seem to work very well for firming up the face. i wonder if that in tandem with some eye strengthening exercises might help your eye. have you consulted a doctor about this? there may be an underlying cause that would be helpful to know about.

best of luck.

Thank you coco, you have been very helpful. I didn't know about the rejuvelac, i will check this out.

I love the idea of doing exercise with my face.
