that there is a common length of time that most people break raw? I mean short term. Like...a number that if you get past...it just sticks? For me it seems to be that two week mark. I'm not sure why, but my biggest struggles happen in the first two weeks and if I choose to have something cooked within those two weeks...it doesn't stick and I revert to old habits.

Currently on day 5 here and eating 100%. I'm feeling really good. With the knowledge that day 7 (my typical breaking point) is coming up...and I'm actually happy. I know that I've got grace right now and I'm going to finally get back on track. So excited for that two week mile marker in my raw journey to pass. It's always after that...it feels like normal life and not work.
I can be around all kinds of cooked food...even prepare it and not have any problems. Come on Two Week Marker! :p

Do any of you have that special mile marker that once it passes you know your chances of raw success are at least doubled????

I forgot where I read it, but in one of the raw food books, they said detox symptoms typically showed up badly enough at 3 days and 3 months so people tended to want to quit then.

I think two weeks was about the home free spot for me, too. By that time I'd told everyone who needed to know, gotten a decent supply of groceries and was starting to feel better. I was driving past SAD restaurants on my way home from work going, "I don't need to eat there anymore.... or there... or there" and feeling really happy about it, even though I probably never would have eaten there anyway.

I never had any issues until the 6 month mark. If I had known cravings were part of detox I would not have given in to them so much- however, I have remained raw and slip ups are just part of the process.

hmm, 2 weeks for me too!!, I have learned to battle that with RAW apple pie! It kills my cravings for cooked! It is the one thing that I make that REALLY resembles cooked!

That's so funny!
And yes, I too have a raw creation that gets me through, it's like a raw candy bar.
{coconut oil, carob, agave nectar, vanilla bean, raw walnuts and a pinch of sea salt} I blend all the wet ingredients together and then add the walnuts. ;) I take a spoonful and roll it into a ball using a bit more carob. Then I place them on a plate in the fridge to harden up a bit. I transfer them to a baggie to grab whenever! :D I always think to myself... ahhhhhh... and it's raw!!! So cool!

Hmmm, if I crave something that's not salad or juice or smoothie, I drink a glass of water and it goes away.:p
