Has anybody been using honey topically for acne issues recently?
I would love to hear some feedback if so:)
Thanks much!

I love to wash my face in honey. It seems to soothe my rosacia a bit too.

U wash it everyday?:)
I'm considering the change to vegan (so not more honey) so haven't used it in the last week or so, but I did have good experiences with it. The good thing is that now I don't seem to need anything. I just have great skin.
I couldn't have imagined saying that right before I went raw!
I THINK cara4art posted a thread with a really good recipe if you want to look for threads posted by that member. I hope that helps. :)

Little off topic, but a customer at the HFS only buys local honey and it has cured her allergies. Allergies that traditional meds could not. She's been "clean" for about 6 years. Says it has to be local honey though!

Local honey is indeed a great solution for many suffering from seasonal allergies.
I don't know about other states, but in Texas at the Whole Foods, there are some allergy drops specially formulated for allergies to the regional trees/weeds/flowers. I have introduced many people to these drops and they have worked beautifully in every situation.
The bottle is about $12 and there's plenty to last for a couple weeks if you are using them 2x daily. Place a dropper full under your tongue - within a few seconds you will start feeling an odd, slightly prickly sensation - do not swallow. Just let it get absorbed into your blood stream and you should be good to go within a few minutes.

I haven't used honey but I love a mixture of aloe gel with a little tea tree oil in it for my acne. I spread it on my face at night and the next morning my skin looks great. I use the same mixture on cuts, rashes, whatever. Good stuff.

Anyone else?:)
i used too but now i just can't do it, i know the bees suffer no matter how conscientious the bee keeper is. besides, it never seemed to be doing much for my skin anyhow.

I've tried it, also tried mixing honey with aloe vera and an exfoliant rub of finely ground oatmeal and almonds. Also tried oil cleansing. I liked how my skin felt immediately afterwards, but none of it worked for my problem skin. Bella di Terra bar soap and Face Potion #19 is the only thing I use these days. My skin is still improving, but it has never looked this good.

I've been scrubbing my face with a dry toothbrush, followed by oil cleansing, followed by a coat of tea tree oil. Finally!!!! Relief from oiliness and acne. I've finally found a simple, natural skin care routine that really works for me. Bliss!

Coco,
How do you know the bees suffer? I'm not being facetious, but I'm just curious as to why you say that.

Honey is a wonderful treat from Mother Nature. I think it is important to support your local producers first and foremost. Always keep an eye on the quality.
