Okay here's the story. I have tons of peaches. I hid the teflex sheets from myself and hopefully from the mice that ate some of my sheets making nice holes that were still usable but now missing. I am hunting for the sheets and no where to be found yet. I don't have time to order anything, but was wondering what I can use in my Excalibur? If I have to order in the future, where and kind to order? Thanks.

I've used parchment paper, waxed paper, deli wrap (don't recommend it), dinner plates...will the peaches be sticky? I hate to say this, but if so, I would start them on saran wrap until they dehydrate a bit and can go on the mesh. I know it's plastic, but everything else will stick to a sticky food and the food will be ruined. Foil might also work; I've never tried it.

Do not use plastic wrap or foil in your dehydrator. When heated plastic wrap leaches chemicals into your food, the other, aluminum. Neither is good. Use parchment paper.

Guess what? I mentioned to hubby that the teflex sheets were missing. He thought I was hunting for the teflex trays that I put in a thick black plastic bag ALONG with some of the teflex sheets. Not sure if I put all teflex in there, but at least I see evidence of some.
Rev,
Thanks for that wisdom. I suppose parchment is same word as butcher papeer but sold in rolls at food store or given by butcher? I suppose I am popular with my dog eating meat and my buying it very often at Whole Foods. It won't be long till we go another route but yes still meat for her.
Rawlinda,
Thanks.
Emma,
Thanks for sharing and we both learned something great here too. Never be afraid to jump in and if we are wrong we are quickly corrected by the pros here. We're graduating to pros ourself too.
Have a great day ALL!

Your dog is a carnivore. She's supposed to eat meat. Keeps her a happy pup.
Yeah, I think parchment and butcher paper might be the same although, I remember butcher paper as being shiny, no? Not sure it's been so long. I don't remember parchment as being shiny.
On well, ya got the teflex so, carry on. :p

Why can't you put peaches on the mesh? I never use sheets for whole/sliced fruits.
