Hi rawbies. I was wondering if raw olives are ever packed in olive oil? Would the jar always specify "raw"?:)

It might say oil-cured. I get some oil cured olives from a local store with an extensive olive bar. They are small, black, and wrinkled like a prune. Look just like Alissa's greek olives. Would love to get some from Alissa or SunFoods, but once you add in the shipping, ouch! Worth it if you can afford it.

The label might say "sun-dried." I buy truly raw olives from internet sources. Just a predilection of mine. :)

Okay. Thanks ladies. This gives me a bit more to go on. There is a natural foods store fairly close by that I am checking out for these. If I don't see anything on their labels like this or some kind of definite proof that they are raw then I will simply pay the shipping and order them on-line but not until next month. (not so flush with money at the moment).:)
